thank you guys for the positive reception to mountain. i have to admit i feel a little intimidated by the attention but everyone’s nice comments, feedback, and ideas motivate me to really make sure the first release sticks the landing.
one thing i didn't demo about the texture painter was the brush mode and the surface mapping, so while i'm still waiting to actually feel sleepy enough to well uh, sleep, i guess i can point out that you can do stuff like this.

So there is a misunderstanding in indy game dev I wanna address. I have seen the term "Low poly" is being used to describe simple faceted style of game models. Okay, sure, but they also then call this "optimised". Hooo boy, no.

my more ambitious projects always have like a halfway point where i do really well with them then i just get frustrated before looping back into them. i should try something simpler like fucking. i don’t know. strip scrabble with a group of serial killers or something.
