Soft Rains Day. "Today is August 4, 2026, in the city of Allendale, California. Today is Mr. Featherstone's birthday. Today is the anniversary of Tilita's marriage. Insurance is payable, as are the water, gas, and light bills." RIP Ray Bradbury, 1920-2012

There Will Come Soft Rains
By: Ray Bradbury

In the living room the voice-clock sang, Tick-tock, seven o'clock, time to get up, time to get up, seven o 'clock! as if it were afraid that nobody would. The morning house lay empty. The clock ticked on, repeating and repeating its sounds into the emptiness. Seven-nine, breakfast time, seven-nine!
In the kitchen the breakfast stove gave a hissing sigh and ejected from its warm interior eight pieces of perfectly browned toast, eight eggs sunny side up, sixteen slices of bacon, two coffees, and two
cool glasses of milk.
"Today is August 4, 2026," said a second voice from the kitchen ceiling, "in the city of Allendale, California." It repeated the date three times for memory's sake.
"Today is Mr. Featherstone's birthday. Today is the anniversary of Tilita's marriage. Insurance is payable, as are the water, gas, and light bills."

I’d recommend anyone who wants to experience a third season of Andor to try the Reign of the Empire series. It may not have Gilroy or “”be television,”” but imo The Mask of Fear embodied the show’s spirit!!

It’s release day for STAR WARS: LEGACY by Madeleine Roux and I cannot tell you just how much good this book did for my soul, as a life-long Leia fan and someone who loves the cluster of perfect imperfections that make up Rey’s character.

I’m not bothering to block all these bots because I don’t care about my follower count on here as much as I do on the site where nobody can see my follower count. But, for the record, I don’t want them here.

When The Rise of Skywalker introduced us to the idea of Leia training Rey in the Force as our new central master-apprentice relationship, it came with a sense of sadness. In the wake of Carrie Fisher’s passing, there was only so much the film could show us.

Review - 'Star Wars: Legacy' Charts a New Jedi Path in One of Rey and Leia's Most Personal Stories Yet - Star Wars News Net

Rey and Leia's most personal journey yet plays out in Star Wars: Legacy, a new novel by Madeleine Roux set after The Last Jedi.

I’m only about four chapters into Legacy but am enjoying the return to the ST and the focus on the mentorship between two women. I can really hear Carrie Fisher in some of the dialogue.

Novel Review: Legacy mynockmanor.com/canon-novel-... More than I could've hoped for, as it deeply explores Rey and Leia both for all they've faced, but what they still have to. Minor spoilers, but kept them vague, especially about the scene that had me sobbing. Bravo, @authoroux.bsky.social! #Legacy
