Some pretty vignettes in the flower garden. Some things are still ok, even with the heat. My “little friend” (as my garden helper says) is pretty on the red coleus. 🌿🌱🌺

The idea that SNAP is a disincentive to working is ridiculous. When I had SNAP I had three jobs. They all paid shit. We were still below the poverty line. Some of the hardest working people in America get SNAP. They're trying to support their kids.

We had a discussion in Old Lady Therapy about all the stuff we will leave behind when we die. Some called it their kids’ “legacy.” I have been thinking about it and the legacy isn’t all the junk they don’t want, it’s *them*. Then I thought about that Dan Fogelberg song, Leader of The Band. 1/

It seems the most logical answer to why the legislative branch is making these appalling decisions is that the ones in control are grifting, corrupt pedophiles, just like their leader. He either has dirt on them or they’re making millions.

Twice now at the same on-ramp, I have had people try to cut around me on the right shoulder to beat me onto the ramp. It’s a steep, curved ramp with an abysmally short approach. I am not a slow driver. But each one has tailgated me hard until we get to the ridiculously short merge onto the freeway.

Very unproductive visit with primary doctor today. Frustrating. I think I am just going to go over her head straight to my endocrinologist. Sick of these 15 minute, “easy button” doctor visits. The student doctor, his first day of clinicals, read my list of symptoms and made more sense than doc did.

I told my sister I should write a blog called “What I Killed in My Garden Today.” Gardens are fickle friends. Things fail. We just have to learn and keep trying. So, what did you kill in your garden today? 😉🌱🌿🌺🍃

My sister pointed out that we won’t live long enough to see this country recovered from the current rot in its soul. A friend and I cried and held each other tight for a moment at our grief over the hate, greed, and cruelty that has been unleashed. Back to flowers…

If you must partake, let the pros do it. Please. Fireworks are also very expensive. If you have money to spare, consider donating to the many causes who need it now. Be the better American.

6:30 am, Leavenworth, WA. There is a marvelous trail system called the Waterfront Park Trail along the Wenatchee River as it passes through Leavenworth. Seriously the best reason to visit there. 🌅🌿⛰️
