Thanks all for bringing September to a close with #GardensHour. For many of us the next few weeks could see significant changes in our gardens, looking forward to seeing them evolve. Next week we talk October plans and for those in autumn/fall how you extend your gardening season.

#GardensHour I’ve left a few planters on the deck for now so the birds hopefully don’t fly into the glass railing panels. Stickers on the glass don’t seem to help anymore.
They've been feasting on the petals of my one flowering Dahlia this week #GardensHour
I dropped my guard for like 5 minutes and suddenly they're more hole than leaf, still flowering though #GardensHour
They've usually done okay the past few summers I've grown them but this year I think the lack of rain scuppered their growth #GardensHour
#GardensHour September low is clearing out many of the annuals planters getting ready for our rainy and muddy season. I did plant an aster and some pansies near Miss Katy’s favourite lavatory by the fence over the weekend.
🌱Good Evening All at #GardensHour - September has been the month where I seem to have brought a bit of the garden's accumulated chaos under control. Would be too unlike me to have it fully reined in - people would think they're looking at someone else's garden.😅
The late warmth through September has helped the olives continue to grow. Olives in the East of England! #gardenshour #trees #gardening
I haven't taken pics but my hostas have been annihilated by millions of tiny little slugs 🌱 #GardensHour #SeptemberLows
Hibiscus self-seeded from a plant that grew from seeds that came from Monticello a few years ago. Unexpected arrival #GardensHour
Highlight of the month @gardenshour.bsky.social figs! Hundreds of figs. The first were ripe in August. #Gardenshour
#GardensHour My September success is reviving a Gaultheria that almost died off as it was in too shady a spot. It's only sold from now & into December here in Holland, with its bright red berries already grown, so I didn't know it has the prettiest white bell-shaped flowers first.
This Scabious has been a pleasant September surprise. I was a bit baffled where it had come from but I have a feeling it may have been a purchase from East Lambrook Garden last year #GardensHour 🌱
A September high 🤔, it’s got to be the Cup and Saucer plant, I just love it. Sowed the seeds back in February, a must every year. @gardenshour.bsky.social #gardenshour
I also cut back a hilarious quantity of bay, and have been trying to foist it off on friends and neighbours, as I hate to chuck it on the woodpile. (I had two, full laundry baskets of bay leaves… 😬) #gardensHour
Completed the annual clematis pruning which enabled a bit of repointing to the moon gate. Such a fiddly job. #GardensHour 🌱
September highs... harvesting! Low? Only one of our apple trees has fruit this year. The other didn't have a single one...the long hot summer and drought conditions maybe. 🍏 🌱 #gardenshour #gardening
Evening all, high points for September have to include the red-hot-pokers which have flowered repeatedly. Low point was all the plants that had never actually been rained on before suddenly encountering hravy weather and getting bashed about quite a bit 🌱 #GardensHour #Bloomscrolling
My job for this week- pruning my giant fig tree. I’ve already taken cuttings but will try striking some more. 🌱 #GardensHour
