Spider-Man was great fun, and the cinema was busier than I've seen it in years. There was also a real buzz when the Avengers trailer was shown - suggesting once again that 'negative online reaction' still likely means sweet f.a. when compared to normal people who are not terminally online.
i hate how much people care about their ships being "canon" now. spirk fans didn't publish zines full of fanfics in the 70s only for modern fandom to grovel at the knees of corporations and beg for things to be canon. use your imaginations, don't allow billionaires to think for you.
How can it be that there are so many grown-ass adults who don't have the common decency to put a hand to their mouths when coughing or sneezing?

Daniel Dockery@dandock.bsky.social · 2mo agoI personally believe the main reason that we haven't had a modern dinosaur film that's better than Jurassic Park is because JP is all about how we see dinosaurs. I can think of few blockbusters that are as focused on reinventing how the audience perceives a subject.
The idea that we shouldn’t speak ill of the dead seems ridiculous to me. What more important time is there to set the public memory of the good or bad a person has put into the world than when they die. It’s the gift we give to those we loved, and the bill due for those who made others miserable.
TV writers were right in 2023 and are being proven more right every day — there was a stable television model that made everyone lots of money and put out good shows. Then execs with no understanding of the industry confused the production model and the distribution model, and they blew it all up.

Disappointing as it is, I'm not the least surprised that the PS6 will be digital-only. Honestly, it's felt like an inevitability for the nearly the whole of the current gen. The key for Sony will now be ensuring not only that the base PS6 model has ample storage while remaining affordable, but....

To the studios and publishers who still think generative AI is a great thing for game development: When next gen comes and AI-fuelled component costs mean people can't afford the $1,000+ consoles your games are on, and you can't recoup costs due to poor sales, it may not feel so nifty then.
