Reform UKs plan to use the Royal Navy to intercept migrant boats in the Channel brilliantly taken apart by ... er ... Nigel Farage

Interested in U.K. politics (centrist dad), #Brexit was the most stupid thing our country has ever done. Semi retired after sales/marketing/management. Teach people about wine 🍷 now. Also like classic rock 🎸and old diesel trains.

The FIFA proposals are so bad that even Lisa Nandy has issued a statement!! 😳
Actual headline: “Yes, even we here at Daily Telegraph think Nigel Farage is a dick and a charlatan. I know, we were shocked too…”
Not sure who did this but they should be arrested immediately.
Latest leader approvals 🌹Burnham bumps up to +19, 8 higher than Keir’s high of 11. 🌳Badenoch down slightly to break even 🔶Davey drops back to -11 💚Polanski is at -24 ➡️Farage drops to another low, by far his lowest since the election at -32
Burnham: "Social care in England is as unfair as American healthcare." It's a very good line.

I thought Nigel Farage & Reform thought abuse & threats posted on social media were just hurty words? #r4today
I have a modest proposal for a new tax. It involves a deck of cards and a monkey throwing darts. Here are the rules:
Bill Oddie, what a lovely bloke. He wrote us a letter when we started making The Young Ones, wishing us the very best, and warning us against interference from higher up. He didn’t know anyone in the cast personally. It just came out of the blue. Lovely thing to do.
Been to see The Odyssey this afternoon. Great film, highly entertaining. From what I’ve heard the purists have issues with historical accuracy but it was over 3,000 years ago and none of the events may be true anyway (one eyed monsters aside). I understand Elon Musk hates it. Recommendation!
Good enough for me. Point 2 is superbly relevant given the pearl clutching going on concerning the government spending a tiny amount of money without a 100 page spreadsheet tracing where every penny is coming from.
Here it is. My manifesto for the 2026 Clacton By-Election. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Join me, clean up Clacton and let's make 13th August Bin Day! #VoteBinface #VoteyMcVoteface #YesWeTinCan
Should voters have been made aware that one of the parties standing at the general election had its bank account frozen during the campaign? It's an interesting/tricky question...
Reform UK’s bank account was frozen after Cottrell donations
Nigel Farage’s party could not make or receive payments for two weeks during the 2024 general election campaign, Insight can reveal

We're just at the end of your last ten year plan. Not gonna lie, the results ain't that great.
But... surely the UK is a war zone under Sharia law, full of no-go areas run by grooming gangs and nobody can wear a watch or carry a phone in public..?
New PM, same old media: Burnham is now simultaneously being accused of spending money he hasn't got on the policies he announces *and* not spending enough money on the policies he announces.
Latest major party leader net favourability ratings, July 2026 Andy Burnham: +3 Ed Davey: -8 Kemi Badenoch: -11 Zack Polanski: -26 Nigel Farage: -46 yougov.com/en-gb/articl...
I really hope Burnham's team take this and the associated narrative to the bank. It's obviously more of a Starmer achievement (and possibly even late Tory achievement), but it's one of the best bits of news around at the moment: www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...

More than half of forces recorded a year-on-year fall in knife crime in 2025/26.

Things that won’t be reported by the Tory Press or BBC. Knife crime in the U.K. dropping. Lowest level of homicide by knife since 1991. You obviously wouldn’t know this based on the disinformation about the U.K. in the USA either. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...

He is SO much better at politics than SKS. A small (and in the grand scheme of things fairly insignificant) change in taxes for business, but absolutely brilliantly positioned and communicated. I liked SKS but this feels completely different, and unless you’re a nerd, people vote on vibes
No arrivals by small boats for the last 10 days now. As of yesterday, 12,469 people had arrived so far this year across the Channel, down over 11,000 (47%) on the same time last year. More than 10% down on 2023 as well, which was when crossings were, by comparison to other years, lower.
All those journalists saying Mahmoud was “nailed on” to be chancellor look pretty stupid don’t they?
