The FAI repeatedly told us players would be protected. Yet when a 24 year old acted on his conscience, they left him to stand alone & used a vote among his teammates to validate their own cowardice. This isn’t protecting a young player, it’s protecting themselves at his expense. #StopTheGame
What has emerged at a later part of the FAI press conference: Knowing the circumstances of the upcoming games, the FAI did a trawl of prospective callups and checked with abut 30 of the most likely players to ensure they were comfortable fulfilling those fixtures. Goalkeepers were not among them.

I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public. I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are. 1/ Here's what I can share:
The manner in which the Government rammed through the International Protection Bill is being condemned even by former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar- performative cruelty no doubt, but also extremely disrespectful to the legislative process. www.thetimes.com/world/irelan...

An extended pause is a long term solution for SNAs, for parents or for schools. We need to put a stop to this nonsense of SNAs having to justify the incredible work they do every couple of years. Protest will continue at the Dáil tomorrow at 5pm.

Gov’s International Protection Bill is flawed; we share a Common Travel Area with Britain, yet there is no workable returns mechanism. That leaves us legislating for detention, including that of children. It would be irresponsible to press ahead with such serious gaps in the law.
ACP overruled their own inspector's report which recommended the development. The Commission "did not agree with the Inspector’s conclusion that the proposal represents an overwhelming public benefit sufficient to justify the degree of heritage harm identified." www.pleanala.ie/en-ie/case/3...
