Why are there so many Trans people who are musicians? Because the arts are one of the few options available to us to achieve any sort of class mobility, the others being sex work and Raytheon.
It's a world where actual politics, coalition building, policy and plank selection, and even simple straightforward beliefs and moral clarity are removed entirely from the equation because the only thing that matters is The Good Guys winning, regardless of what The Good Guys believe/commit to.
I just can't wrap my head around the liberal's conception of democracy, where every election is a test between "the good guys" and "the bad guys" and any outcome that results in The Bad Guys winning means the electorate failed the test and need to be shamed into doing better next time.
I really want people to think more like organizers. I'm seeing endless debate, and more than a little conspiracy theorizing, about the motivations behind the big companies' warnings about the danger of AI. And almost no discussion about how we seize this moment to demand the policies we want.

language note: "trans identified female(/woman)" and "trans identified male(/man)", often shortened to TIF and TIM, are slurs uses by transphobes for trans men and women (respectively). cis allies, if you see this shit, PLEASE call it out and/or report it.
Hmmm how should I phrase this.. I do not like how the term "AI psychosis" has started to become used. It feels like it's becoming less and less common to use it to discuss the very real problem of companies encouraging people to lose their grip on reality and more using a mental illness as an insult
