Victory for Lula, who has already reduced Amazon deforestation by 70% since 2022, means there is now a chance of ending deforestation of the rainforest entirely I’m weeping with joy for Brazil, for the Indigenous peoples of the Amazon, and for life on Earth 🇧🇷🌳🌎 www.theguardian.com/world/2026/o...

There's also a perception that complexity and sophistication are always additive, and I just don't think that's true. There are so many examples of games that work better with less features or visual/design complexity, and less clutter means what's actually there can really shine.

I did it. It feels surreal. Feels like just yesterday I was drawing my own versions of Kirby powers, or Mega Man bosses, never imagining that I would actually put a game on a Nintendo console some day... www.nintendo.com/us/store/pro... #gamedev #indiegame #nintendoswitch #indiegames

A lovely article on a phenomenal film that's been a constant source of inspiration throughout my entire life! ❤️ There's a loneliness that comes with working on an original project that's conveyed incredibly well here, as well as the importance of inspiration & education alongside the production.

Nick Park spent the '80s making A Grand Day Out mostly alone. It was a school project that got out of hand -- he wanted to quit many times. But Park stuck with it and fulfilled his dream of bringing a cinematic feel to stop motion. We explore: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/wallace-an...

🎃It's spooky month!🎃 Time for a quick thread of terrifying games, starting with Sonic 2's garbled leftovers of a zone that was never meant to be: kimimithegameeatingshemonster.com/2020/10/17/f...

Sonic The Hedgehog 2: Forbidden knowledge

This has scared me like nothing else I’ve written about all spooky season; it’s the one game I honestly don’t want to look at screenshots of if I can help it, the one heart-stoppi…

my buddy introduced his four-year-old twins to pokemon via Pokopia and Concierge and now when he tries to expose them to more traditional pokemon stuff they get VERY upset by the idea of battling. they were not forged in the cauldron of pokemon violence as we once were

Midnight Landing at Chitose Airport. Simple but effective (and quite beautiful) graphics that go some way the experience some realistic atmosphere, boosted in this enhanced version on Sharp X68000 by a sharper UI and control tower speech. 📺: The Cockpit, Compac Inc, 1988.

A gameplay screenshot of The Cockpit. A colourful HUD with various commercial aircraft functions such as speed and altitude and a heading bar can be seen around the dots of light picking out a runway and the nighttime landscape of buildings that's quite beautiful.
