Writer. Scripts, but before that journalism. Still stumbles across a story every now and then. Makes swords and bows, fixes robots, likes cats. Even better in person. I have ADHD and who knows what else. He/Him.

Oh no. Exactly what everyone who knows literally *anything* about it said would happen did in fact happen. Wow. So now all the other know nothings in other governments around the world who are planning on giving away everyone's privacy will stop and think for a single second, right? Right??

Australia’s eSafety commissioner buried a report (released Friday afternoon) that shows the under 16 social media ban didn’t tangibly reduce teen social media use, and also resulted in parents tuning out of kids usage. We traded our privacy for no reason. theconversation.com/more-than-80...

Imagine if Homer had known that his poem was being hotly discussed, thousands of years later. Discussed to the point where people are getting *a bit fighty*. He would have never shut up about it. It would have absolutely ruined him.

I’m hoping Christopher Nolan writes a scathing review of Wilson’s next translation project, let’s get a real feud going. “Her clumsy and consistent flattening of the gnomic aorist into a bare preterite utterly fails to capture the nuance of the original!”

Anyone fancy a night out Odyssey rules? * Have a standard trip to the pub * HOWEVER at home time, just pick a direction and start walking. * Have 3-6 episodic adventures * Aim to arrive home at 8am, but act like it's been twenty years * Be nice to any pets, especially dogs.

I have a personal belief that the more a person is a nerd for something: dinosaurs, The Odyssey, etc, the less likely they are to enjoy a popular entertainment version of that thing.

A great way to annoy your kids is to act like a pilot in the car, by wishing them a great day and telling them about the weather at their destination when they arrive. It is spectacularly unpopular.

We really should give it up for Apple's Marketing department with Severance. We will have to wait years for the next episode and yet fans are roleplaying hard on 'LinkedIn' as innies. I've heard someone even roleplayed as an innie so well they got a real life job?!?

We give the Trojans a lot of crap for falling for the horse but who amongst us has not seen an abandoned sofa on the pavement and not thought, just for a moment. 'Maybe this is a gift from the gods?'

On the second night of sword making in Wales the swordmaster read us The Odyssey. He explained it was the wrong culture for the the bronze work we were doing, but it was from the right time. We sat in a thatched roundhouse and listened to a poem as old as bronze working.

A group of tired metal workers (bronze) in a round hut, lit by candles.
