ok so at first this wasn’t vibing but it picked up in the 2nd and 3rd acts and had me welling up in the end. half the book is written from the perspective of a cat, which might have been what tripped me up because it trivialized some of the stuff happening. glad I stuck with it.

they're tearing down a very old house in my neighborhood today. I saw a pile of bricks from the chimney in the yard so I asked the teardown crew if I could rescue some of them for lining my garden. They were totally cool about it and even helped me load the hand cart!
