ROUTE 8 and DENNY WAY: starting on Saturday, buses and cars merging onto Interstate 5 won’t compete for the same lane of Denny Way. To keep traffic flowing, people driving to I-5 south from eastbound Denny Way will turn right on Boren Ave and left on Howell St instead of using Yale Ave.

I'm a little surprised Mayor Wilson was attacked for even considering not keeping Chief Barnes on as SPD chief and now is getting attacked for keeping him on while his main residence is in the Chicago area. I guess I'm not that surprised, just really annoyed.

In Phoenix for a bachelor party and every group picture we asked to be taken was taken vertically. Apparently horizontal pictures are dead and I didn't know.

@wookee119.bsky.social A heads up, if you're a new person coming into a community others will be a little distrustful, especially on the internet where you can be anon. If you're truly trying to advocate for or against something it's important to keep this in mind. Else people will ignore you.

Jason (surprisingly the least worst member of the All In podcast) saying what we basically already know of business leaders. They prefer fascism and oligarchy to liberal democracy.

"If you told a bunch of business leaders this could become oligarchic, they would be like, sign me up." @jasonmcalacanis.bsky.social says Trump’s billionaire allies think oligarchy sounds great. But @timmiller.bsky.social warns backlash is coming, and it's going to be "pitchforks and socialism."

Asking about Pratt definitely was trying to push an agenda but I'd love to see someone dig into and write up the current understanding of the "right wing media network" in Seattle. Like why did I see a picture of Suarez wearing a "Pratt for LA" hat in Seattle? How is Kim connected to the network?

remember that Hana Kim of FOX news in Seattle spent several minutes of her interview with Mayor Katie Wilson demanding a response to Spencer Pratt's claim that LA's homeless people would be bused to Seattle once he "unplugs them" from services and forces them into psych holds

Remember Westneat is a joke. In his latest piece he said "One factor is Seattle has been shedding the “light” from light rail. ... the premise [was] a sort of combo subway train and streetcar, was that it could be installed relatively cheaply on city streets and in road medians."

Maybe the light rail system we’ve got is good enough

Light rail is finally cooking in the Seattle area. It coincides with an existential crisis over building expansion lines for the future. At what point do we say "it's good," and stop?
