Watched the new Spiderman. Quite good...went on a bit (90% of new films are about 30 minutes too long).

Every time I read Jason Arday's name I think of SL2 On A Ragga Tip... Arday. Arday. It's Jason Arday...
Watching the He Man film. Quite enjoying it so far. Always found the name of the character Evil Lynne hilarious though. Like calling someone Horrible Janet or.Nasty Barbara or something like that.
Listening to a Kool and The Gang Greatest Hits and they've got a song called Hi de Hi, Hi de Ho. Do you reckon they were fans of Ted, Spike, Gladys, Peggy, Barry and co?
"So I said to the Medusa." Sorry...just had to get that out of my head.
Currently on day 5... I have realised it was actually some draught beer I had at Teignmouth carnival on Thursday night as haven't felt right since. Only had two pints as well. So my one bit of life advice is avoid drinking draught beer from marquees at carnivals!
Bit depressing when you finally make it to the weekend and then come down with a vomiting bug! 🤢
"If it's a girl they're calling it Denise. If it's a boy, they're calling it Denephew." Bob seemed to enjoy this one! youtu.be/8QIFrd-WOnI?...

I'm sure I wasn't the only one... Childhood memory of watching Pinocchio and Mickey's Christmas Carol and wondering why they were going on about that Irish comedian in the wellies.
Hearing news that Jimmy Cricket has died. What a lovely man he was.
Just remembered a conversation that made me laugh in Lidl earlier... "Ooh, while you're in the cheese..."
Blimey...one of my abiding memories of 80s light entertainment was that this guy was always on!

I know this or similar has been shared multiple times but it never fails to make me laugh...
Mickey Mouse degree was always a daft phrase anyway. Literally the most famous, successful, popular and recognisable character to be exported around the world. Surely a better analogy would be a less successful cartoon character. Like maybe the annoying dragonfly from the Crazy Legs Crane cartoons.
So here's the thing. And another thing. And ANOTHER thing.
***ANNOUNCEMENT*** Coming on August 25th on Blu-ray in the US from #WarnerBros and #UniversalPictures: #TheThing 3-Movie Collection (1951-2011)! Director John Carpenter teams Kurt Russell's outstanding performance with incredible VFX to create a chilling version of the classic The Thing.
I'd forgotten about this 'Willo The People' cartoon I'd done 7 years ago until it popped up on my Facebook memories today.
Just finished reading Holly by Stephen King. A great read as ever but you do wonder where he gets some of his ideas from... 😬
Yes lockdown was really tough for kids. Lots of those kids are teenagers now so maybe as a thank you our establishments could stop deliberately making even more things worse for them due to a weird systemic hatred of our own youth
It would be too easy to just do a thread of all the caption gags though, wouldn't it?
End of Part One: easily the most underrated sketch show, hobbled by ITV bunging it out at Sunday teatimes, but at its best surpassing Python in the realm of savage TV parody. open.substack.com/pub/historyo...

I try not to have regrets. But I really should have bought this...
