I'm delighted to be part of the organizing committee (with Liz, @tannerallread.bsky.social, Jess Roney, Justin Roberts, Sally Gordon, & @quilldir.bsky.social) for this conference to be held next April in Philly. If you're at all interested in constitutions, broadly construed, check out our CfP:

Its Constitutions, Everywhere! A great conference about a fascinating topic! The CFP has been extended, so you still have time to submit your panels and papers. #Skystorians, please share with your networks.

Lawyers sometimes have a funny way of thinking about time. They can be very teleological, and when they read constitutional text, they can sometimes imagine that a certain meaning was simply lying dormant in the words, waiting to be unearthed by some ingenious judge. Learning history might help.

Bluesky history folks, help me make the strongest case for including both parts of the U.S. history survey in our pre-law undergraduate program

I think the class of school administrators (not just in higher ed) who act fast to insulate core pedagogical functions from AI will reap major rewards for their trouble. In a few years, there will be an extremely stark difference between people who used AI in school and people who are competent

cognitive sabotage, you can ban it extra credit to U Chicago for bans on professional AND undergrad programs; smart SLACs are going to market AI free campuses soon chicagomaroon.com/53262/news/s...

The issue is out! Once it’s available online (it’ll be open access for thirty days!), I’ll post about the forum on the Dickinson documents discovery that I was so excited to help organize.

An incredible forum in the latest William and Mary Quarterly, spearheaded by Jane E. Calvert and @jgienapp.bsky.social. The contingency of the revolutionary moment can’t be clearer.
