This is equally true for city planners and our plans and city-building ideas. You have to persuasively SELL those ideas to the public — a public that’s inundated with disinformation. And even once you get an idea or plan passed, you have to KEEP selling it, to “election proof” it.

Once more: Mamdani understands that you can't just do things in politics and expect voters will notice on their own and thank you for it. You've got to work just as hard selling yourself to voters once you're in office as you did selling yourself to them to get into office. This is the way.

Our cul-de-sac is mostly old people. A family moved in last year, and on these warm evenings I love hearing the kids whizzing up and down on their scooters. This evening the rattle of the small wheels on the tarmac is accompanied by the lad singing to himself.

Apart from a small decrease in lorries, motor traffic is up generally in GB 2025-6. Traffic on ‘A’ roads up 2.0% and on minor roads up 1.6%. The Government needs to switch investment and policies enabling such traffic growth #RoadTrafficReduction www.gov.uk/government/s...

What is the future of summers in England? Our choices matter. A high-emissions future will commit our children and grandchildren to live in a world where the summers of 1976 & 2025 are cold. A global net-zero emissions future means that we can stabilise the climate & those summers will be normal.

🚨 New research by us! 📣 Most British drivers don't know how dangerous SUVs are to other road users, but adding information to SUV marketing materials seems to do almost nothing to change people's plans to buy SUVs Here's a 🧵 on why harder action is going to be needed 1/10

Mayor Mamdani could make the World's Borough the "envy of the world" with Low Traffic Neighborhoods! “Communities are eager for calmer, safer streets that bring people together. LTNs build on that momentum.” nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/05/20/m...

Mamdani’s Path to Low Traffic Neighborhoods Could Run Through Queens - Streetsblog New York City

Street safety boosters in Astoria want to bring low-traffic neighborhoods to the Big Apple — and their corner of the city in the particular.

One of the many benefits of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods is that they make streets safer for cycling. We're working with boroughs to route bike routes through LTNs - with filters & safe crossings of main roads. Great to see the new Cycleway 37 in Hackney 🚲💚
