I am at least one million internet years old. Lefty leftist. Art, math, preferably both at once. Always knitting, usually socks. Western Canadian in Ottawa. I don't know how everyone else sounds interesting in these things. She/they.

I just made a cherry shrub from some of the most delicious cherries I've had in years (the rest went immediately into my face). I wanted to share the amazing color of it before I dilute it for drinking and it, too, goes into my face.

a photo of cherry shrub, a clear and deeply red liquid, in the bottom of a pint glass with some hexagonal ice cubes.

here's another throwback from 2016 a private poster commission inspired by Moby Dick honestly still really love this one, both the concept and execution i worked on pre-inked scratchboard for this one (so fully black) instead of the usual white claybord that i ink myself 30x40cm

a black and white scratchboard illustration inspired by Mody Dick. It depicts a giant white whale about to collide with a whaling ship. The scene is viewed from a bird's eye view, high above the scene. Seagulls are seen orbiting around the scene. The ship and the whale create waves in the water that reinforce the tension between them.

I was discussing the horrid August weather with a friend in Austria (they currently have it much, much worse) and damn if 'EXTREME HITZEBELASTUNG' doesn't sound nearly awesome enough to be subjected to it. \m/

There are two wolves inside you. Also two anteaters, two bears, two cows, actually two of every type of animal. You are not a person, you are a giant wooden boat hundreds of feet long. You tire of sailing the endless ocean of this flooded planet, and have imagined a very different life for yourself

There are two wolves inside you. Going to write you a prescription for more wolves. You’re got a wolf deficiency and that might be the reason for the headaches.

I got a ridiculous deal on an opened-box Fitbit during Prime Days, and have been trying to learn to live with something on my wrist at all times. It has taught me some things I already know (I sleep for balls) but it turns out it's ~5000 steps to go to the grocery and back, and that's cool.

Made chickpeas with fried onions and cumin last night, and am currently eating it over rice with a fair bit of contentment. My aunt and uncle aren't rice people -- a bit like my mom, they kinda want to add a bowl of boiled potatoes to every meal -- but it's my carb? grain? of choice, anymore.

kinda annoyed at how well my ear not-plugs (*) work. I have some kind of pride issue I need to get past, that functioning better with sound-management gear makes me the same as a flighty horse that needs blinders to function. +

This is pretty great news, because intra-province booze sales were nearly impossible before this. Quebec didn't sign on, which means Unibroue will still be thin on the ground (Blanche de Chamblis </3 ) but it does mean that Last Mountain Distillery's dill pickle vodka might make it my way.

9 premiers to allow wineries, distilleries, breweries to sell directly to consumers across provinces | CBC News

Provinces across Canada will introduce direct-to-consumer alcohol sales — a step forward in breaking down interprovincial trade barriers that prevent the free movement of alcohol across Canada.
