Dad, post-production guy, draw robots (and other things) for fun. I make goofy amateur comics like Mecha Wars which you can check out here ⬇️ https://patreon.com/grantdgoodmanart?utm_medium=unknown&utm_source=join_link&utm_campaign=creatorshare_crea

One glorious truth now that I'm out of the entertainment journalism industry is that I no longer have to pretend to care about movie rankings, the most braindead, meaningless format. I don't care, I don't care, I don't give a shit, I don't caaaaaaaare.

sometimes fantasy authors come up with the concept "there are things older than history and prehistory.. otherworldly things the human mind cant comprehend" and for Lovecraft that means "monster so freaky it drives you insane" and for Tolkien it means "some guy named Tom with an extremely fine wife"

Make more art. I don’t care if you think it’s bad. I don’t care if you’ve been drawing for 20 years or 20 minutes. I don’t care if you choose to share it or keep it to yourself. I don’t even care if it’s literally just scribbling on paper in anger. Just make art. Don’t let anything stop you.

Americans absolutely cannot handle minor personal inconvenience, unless it has been sold to us as “freedom.” The correct response to necessary lockdowns was “our very rich government should pay us all to stay home” but instead a bunch of people went with “I must dine out and it’s tyranny if I can’t”

it’s pretty obvious that a lot of people remember that COVID lockdowns were unpleasant and from there just extrapolate that they were therefore bad policy

Yeah, Kat Tenbarge was much nicer to Jack Osbourne than I would have been, I would have just told him to go fuck himself. Also, if you're going to accuse a writer or journalist of using "AI" on the basis of em dashes, absolutely positively go fuck yourself.

So I woke up this morning to find out that Ozzy Osbourne’s son made a video falsely accusing me of using AI to write a Rolling Stone article about the Tate brothers.

Analysis | New 60 Minutes correspondent Ross Douthat has no investigative journalism experience and no cachet among the 25-to-49-year-olds advertisers covet. But don't underestimate his ability to deliver the key demographic of over-65 cranky white male billionaires.
