The neighbour's cat has been asleep in the shared courtyard every time I've gone through there today. So obviously 11pm just after I've opened the window for a breeze and settled into bed is when it has decided to wake up and meow repeatedly.

After this hot, dry summer, I wonder if climate extremes will flip to give us an exceptionally cold, snowy winter? www.theguardian.com/environment/...

A trip to the seaside, the cinema or the shops - have you taken the kids on a free bus ride yet? We'd love to hear about it! Children aged 5-15 travel free in England this August. No need to register - just hop on board!
Great to be able to pop into the new Charnwood Eco Hub location in Baxtergate this evening. I reckon the building is a TARDIS given what they've managed to fit in!
You know I'm quite looking forward to @countbinface.bsky.social building his one affordable house. I bet he can carry quite a few bricks up the ladder in that bin of his. 😂
53,800 of these bad boys are landing in Clacton. Ain’t they beauts? #VoteBinface
My comments can get heated. Here's me reacting to some of them...
Today is National "People Saying Hello To Jon Who Obviously Know Him But He Doesn't Have A Clue Who They Are" Day. Hello if you celebrate it. 🤪😉😂😂

The next time a climate change denier comes at you with that excuse:
Walking along I noticed you occasionally get a weirdly green bit of grass amongst the yellow straw of our drought ravaged verges and hedgerows. Odd.
This is a stark warning: the climate emergency is here, yet the Government moves at a snail’s pace. It's time for a national strategy: funding cool hubs for vulnerable groups, mandating cooling and ventilation in new homes, supporting drought-affected farmers and heat-proofing NHS facilities.
@clivebagley.bsky.social I hope everything went well for you today.
If you're a gardener in the Midlands or South East, number one is a definite "no shit Sherlock" entry.

After watering my station and then cutting back one of my front garden hedges this morning, I think its time to retreat from the burning gaze of the day star for a few hours to drink cold water and eat ice cream. 🥵🌞
Crap... there goes the source of water I use for the plants at Parkway station. I guess I'll be carrying 20 litres from home now for the platform & entrance planters and the long border will have to struggle along by itself until it finally rains. #drought #gardening #CommunityRail

Had my first rides on #LimeBikes in Birmingham today, a spontaneous decision over walking from New Street to Edgbaston Stadium. A good experience; motor makes it easy and the A38 cycleway was mostly delightful (connecting in to Priory Road needs work). But there's one thing I don't like... [1/2]

Yes, it's an extraordinary garden year here, too. We gardeners are on a journey, destination unknown, so it seems.

Another reason for sowing a few crops in whatever #gardening space you might have this summer is that we might well find food prices go up and availability goes down this Autumn/Winter because of heatwaves, wildfires & Trump stuffing up fertiliser flows through the Straits of Hormuz. #GardenersWorld
