"Why should my tax dollars go to giving houses to people who can't afford them?" Why should MY tax dollars should go to satisfying your desire to see desperate people living desperate lives? I'd rather save money and solve the problem, rather than spend money to exacerbate it.

No, I'm not giving money to JK Rowling. No, I'm not going to Mel Gibson movies. No, I'm not posting on X. No, I'm not subscribing to Substacks. No, I'm not donating to the Republican Party. And no, I'm not using Chat Fucking GPT.

on the one hand we could use state and federal money to make our roads safer based on a plan which was written by professionals and which has proven successful elsewhere. but on the other hand a couple of guys don't like it so who's to say which side is right really

Plan to transform Chandler Street divides Worcester neighborhood It may seem like a niche issue but people are worked up about the proposed road changes to May and Chandler near Worcester State www.telegram.com/story/news/l...

Take a moment to remember that a sex criminal with more nazi tattoos than prior electoral campaigns ran on a boilerplate progressive platform in Maine and got 72% of the Democratic vote. I think voters might have been picking up some of what he was putting down.

Fearing that progressives will lose general elections but centrists will win them is illogical Have you even been paying attention

I just need one anti-trans activist to come out and be transparent and say: - Trans people playing sports isn't a real issue, it's just a lie made up by anti-LGBTQ special interest groups who can't otherwise advance their ideology on its merits.

This post got a lot of traction on Twitter, and it's driving me nuts because this IS what "trans activists" have been saying for years and years. It's impossible to have a discussion on this topic when people refuse to acknowledge what one side is actually arguing.

I just need one trans activist to come out and be transparent and say:
- Nobody is saying that if Wemby decided to identify as female tomorrow he should be allowed to play in the W
- Trans children should be allowed to participate in youth sports and other activities in some manner but there needs to be some nuance around whether it is right for male-to-female trans kids to be playing in female-only sports leagues, many times that will be inappropriate.
- We understand what Sophie is saying but it is damaging to the trans community and XXXXX is why.
Just retweeting and calling her a bigot and homophobe for an opinion that 90% of America holds to some extent is doing nothing productive.

I've seen people who are reasonably wary of a business guy, but Kleban's politics predate (and drive) his business. I wish he hadn't been railroaded out of the initial primary, because I think people would have seen that. He's one of the most conscientious people I've ever met, not just in beer

Maine Beer Co. owner Dan Kleban, a hopeful to replace Graham Platner as D Senate challenger to unseat longtime R Senator Susan Collins this November, is out with a statement about the ICE-involved shooting in Biddeford this morning: "This shit has to stop" dankleban.substack.com/p/ill-hold-i...

If the corporate world finds Joe Biden unacceptable - and by every measure, this was the case - then there is no Democrat alive today corporations would find acceptable. I think 2028 presidential hopefuls would do well to come to terms with that.
