Some initial thoughts, and a complicated mix of feelings. Wow. I mean, Erdos problems are cool (I genuinely mean that), I didn't know about the Jacobian conjecture before it got disproved. But this newest batch from OpenAI hits home in a way the previous announcements did not.

Glancing at the bun LLM zig->rust rewrite, and I don't think their model quite understands the meaning of safe code
I have a lot of respect for people not giving their work away for free. I'm personally disappointed by this decision and likely biased. I don't know why anyone would listen to me. I'm writing my thoughts more for myself than anyone else. Caveats out of the way: I think this is a mistake.

Huh? The proposed rule changes nothing. There are no e-mopeds certified to "meets all applicable Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS)". Insurance won't exist as no legal e-mopeds exist. Enforcement won't happen just because illegal vehicles are now illegal in a slightly different way.

A lot of popular AI cyber security discourse fails to understand the asymmetry between offense and defense. Defense is avoiding, fixing, and mitigating vulnerabilities you don't know about with defensive code and practices. Red teaming harder than the attackers is neither necessary nor sufficient.

He wants to know if council could define a list of what stores can sell. Staff say they can regulate things like size, noise and property standards, but generally not what stores sell.
Obamacare conspiracy nonsense suggests that Trump is going to do something like name the ballroom the "Trump Ballroom" and charge the government royalties for using his name.
