Thoughts are my own, not my institutions. Father, husband, law faculty. Enjoying the Palouse.

For two years, Ohio Guy commented under every single Let's Talk Elections video on YouTube with Ohio will be blue. Congress will be blue. Hope is eternal. Today Ohio Guy got to switch it up:

Ohio is blue.
Congress is blue.
Hope is an eternal thing with feathers that refuses to die.

the number of U.S. citizen teens and young 20-somethings who leave their "temporary" ICE detentions with black eyes and broken bones and all other manner of injuries you normally get in a beat down...these photos and interviews always stay with me. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Outcry after ICE violently detains US citizen walking to high school: ‘I thought they were going to kill me’

Agents pinned down Erik Zepeda, a 20-year-old with disabilities, and left him with a broken wrist in latest example of ICE brutality as activity surges in California

Not that the law clerks get to control who gets invited to what, but I suspect most of them aren't pleased, either. OTOH, the pizza places nearest the Chambers and Browning Courthouses are probably doing a booming business on an otherwise slow Monday night.

I am sure the entirety of the 9th circuit judges are THRILLED to be doing this crap this time of night. Those two might not get invited to the next luncheon.

ICE targeted a trans woman in Rochester, NY, tackled her and broke her foot, put her in isolation in a men's camp in Batavia & released her with an ankle monitor only after forcing her to reveal she'd had SRS. (Batavia is currently building a tent camp for women.) www.wxxinews.org/local-news/2...

A transgender woman from Singapore says ICE agents arrested her at Rochester's airport and held her at an all-men's detention center in Batavia.

I wrote this earlier this afternoon. Oldest Gand son (6) started not feeling well at 6pm. Struggling to breathe. Blood ox at 67% and he’s admitted to hospital by 8pm. All signs point to flu, but we are waiting for test results. Him and his parents are staying at the hospital tonight.

This is your warning. There are colds and flus and all kinds of things that will make you sick out there in the world right now. Wear face mask. Wash hands.

I live in a rural town and, like, I don't know how to tell you this, but the girls play on the boys team and vice versa all the time because otherwise we don't have enough players for a game and it's literally always fine so stop being weirdos about kids sports and just let trans kids play.

Not nothing—but the primary voucher funding threat comes from not by driving kids out of public schools, but by states setting up entirely new subsidy systems for kids never enrolled in the first place.

It is, of course, coming. But take heart. Almost everything they’ve done violates a state level criminal statute of some sort. There are some things that are purely federal powers, but most implicate a state crime, be it assault or a financial crime. It’s just gonna take some time.

Scoop: White House lawyers are weighing preemptive mass pardons for junior staff, sources says Under discussion: Pardoning everyone involved in deportation, war, or trade policy www.washingtonsun.com/whitehouse/w...

Here's the original post. Notice the block quote text here, suggesting the 80+ yo coach "played" for the Dream, is too young for dementia, and is really suffering from her "football" injuries. It's a mix of AI football concussion slop and AI WNBA slop. This FB Page is hardly even trying.

Screenshot of a Facebook post from the page “Blue Lightning Hoops,” posted a day ago. The caption reads: “SAD NEWS: Atlanta Dream Nation Rallies Around Legendary Coach [name blacked out] as She Reportedly Battles Dementia at 83 and Gradually Loses Her Voice — Yet Still Holds...” followed by “See more.” The image shows an older woman with short blonde hair, her face blurred, wearing a brown blazer and standing in front of a crowd in arena seating. Over the lower part of the image is a red, white, and blue star logo with a large letter “A,” and a quote box that reads: “She can’t speak anymore. She only remembers our daughter’s name and that she once played for the Atlanta Dream. She doesn’t even know my name,” her sister shared. “Doctors say it’s frontotemporal dementia, but she’s far too young. I believe the repeated head trauma she endured during football contributed to what is happening now.” The post has 25 reactions, 1 comment, and 3 shares.
