Old man yells at clouds

Baddest motherfucker in Tunbridge Wells Was Perry Groves many years ago (not the football one)
As a side note to this, it’s one of the reasons why I find both Low and Lambchop so amazing. They both started in the 90’s (roughly same time as Stereolab) and have completely changed their sound beyond all recognition, yet still remain themselves.
Ah, Stereolab. Basically [album under discussion] is not as good as [posters favourite Stereolab album] but it’s better than [posters least favourite Stereolab album] Casual listener: “Don’t they all sound the same?” (Note: I like Stereolab)
“Verify your age” If you had a remote control, it was connected via a cable
"Verify your age". If you had a remote control for your TV, you were either posh or lazy.
And also missing the obvious point that universities bring in huge amounts of foreign money. Like, billions. And also missing the point that university educated Gen X and Millennials are Labour’s core voters now. Like, why copy the far right’s anti-university line? They make money and bring votes
Such absolute SHITE from Labour. STILL less than half of 18-yr-olds go to university. STILL a majority don't. STILL the politicians want to blame universities for... something...
The ‘giving the other driver room’ rules clearly don’t apply to certain drivers
Partey should get a red card. Not for that tackle, just because.
Just thinking about the stupid, bad, something-must-be-done policy-by-vibes teen social media ban and sharing this excellent piece by @jamesrball.com again for those who missed it the other day www.jamesrball.com/p/a-teen-soc...
A teen social media ban is an admission of total and utter failure to govern online spaces
The UK government is currently calling for steps that fall short of a teen social media ban. Here's why it shouldn't take the next step.

A little tip to people looking for a job who are on LinkedIn. HR people, if your CV looks promising, will take a look at LinkedIn using a private account to see what you’ve been posting. Trust me, it has an effect. And there will be no paper trail, and you’ll never know it happened.
Also before that - have people been on Facebook, or LinkedIn, where people will post the maddest abuse you've ever seen *next to their CV*?
A generation of children confined to exclusively posting on LinkedIn, humbled to share that they have been recognised as thought leaders in vertically integrating your mom's supply chain.
The more I watch endurance racing the more I find it a more enjoyable watch compared to F1. Proper TV coverage, good replays, commentators who are interested, informed and prepared to immediately say when they are wrong….just so much better than F1 coverage now
Went to a party I danced all night I drank 16 beers and I started up a fight

Your regular reminder that Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream moved next to a pub in Camden and then complained to Camden council about their late licence
Complaining about nightlife when you *checks notes* choose to live in Soho is like living in South Kensington and complaining about the museums. Or moving to Hackney and grumbling about creatives. Living in Richmond and hating green space. It's all getting a bit silly, isn't it?
The last time Spurs won the league, plate tectonics hadn’t been discovered
Not that anybody asked, but the last time the NY Knicks won a championship, the Hip Hop music genre had not yet been invented.
@sophietalksf1.bsky.social ouch
Sky Germany has obtained information from Brad Benavides' father that following the accident in the F3 race, Benavides has been diagnosed with three vertebral fractures and will be out of the sport for at least two months #formula3

Dear AWS graphics people, if you’re not 5cm from the wall at Monaco, you won’t have a fast lap. 5mm is super close, not 5cm
You could write a decent movie based on the tale of the idiot Viking princeling and his resentful veteran adviser.
Ken Early is simultaneously an interesting and entertaining pundit and also completely full of shite
Not sure Ken Early is an Arsenal fan
Am reminded of the great Steven Wells line: “Opinions are like arseholes - everyone’s got one, and none merit close inspection. Except mine”
"I have the best taste, therefore everyone that doesn't agree with me is lying"
The FT - both the paper and the website - is truly the world’s greatest newspaper Funnily enough it’s not owned by a billionaire. (Neither is the Guardian, which is the second best)
This exchange with @jayrayner1.bsky.social under @bryce.lol’s FT Wealth column about London’s most expensive sushi restaurant has killed me www.ft.com/content/1fd5...
Vermeer’s Girl With The Pearl Earring will be shown in Osaka, later this year, and the press conference was as Japanese as you’d expect #Vermeer
Anyone with eyes could see the decision to award Celtic that injury time penalty was dodgy as hell.
surprise surprise, the two major VAR penalty incidents during the last few matches of Scottish Football (which both went against Hearts and for Celtic) were incorrect! www.espn.co.uk/football/sto...
