Spending this day truly wondering if I still have the ability to level up or if it’s drilled in impostor syndrome from the saturation of gatekeeping. Tl; dr Can I do a big technical thing independently that I don’t know well or at all. I hate letting good people down.

You can become disabled or homeless in an instant. It just takes one accident or illness to change your life forever. It’s not a moral failing. You can’t just “try harder”. People need support, compassion and to have their basic needs met. That’s how you ensure survival.

The entire cybersecurity industry, including governments, are busy giving themselves blowjobs about GenAI when Iran's breaking in by doing stuff which was novel in 1995.

Brutal truth - US cybersecurity of essential services fucking sucks. There's water treatment centers etc all over Shodan, just search celluar phone network ranges. SCADA systems with WinVNC, you name it. Most of these providers have 2 IT people and no budget.

After cyberattacks on Minnesota water systems, CISA says critical infrastructure operators should disconnect internet-exposed PLCs and other OT assets "as soon as possible." www.cisa.gov/news-events/...

Caught up just enough for head ache to return. Looking forward to another scone and some ibuprofen because It’s going to be a busy day you all.

DHH being full mask off racist is another reason I'm cautious around white guys who run in progressive circles but don't bother with race or gender politics

Jealousy is a curse, it really is. Fancy spending your own valuable time, consumed by what others have, whether it be items, fame, fortune or something else. For all you know, they might have cancer, Their dog might've died, their partner left. It's a waste.

A "science journalist" and "fact checker" claimed that "most Americans have never met a Jew." I pointed out how wildly false this assertion was and got blocked (along with seemingly anyone else who noted the error). Just a reminder that there's a whole lot of misinformation out there.

I am always trying to explain to folks that most Americans have never met a Jew and people do not believe me and I just need you to understand that the perception that we are a powerful group in this country is intentionally created by antisemites and you’re unknowingly buying in.

No. Just no. The truth is that about 50% of Americans have a Jew in their close social circle (50 people). It gets to about 75% if you expand to a standard social network (150 people). And if it's just loose acquaintances (600 people) then you've covered 98% of Americans.

Because of course there are two characters today. It’s like the bog of endless stench and wonder how do people even keep track. I heart my mutuals who look out for others.
