After a few days to reflect, I think my biggest takeaway from GenCon is that I want to play more new games with more new people. I’m still buzzing over games and conversations that expanded how I think about design and play If you’ve got a weird little game and a seat at your table, hit me tf up
Baby’s first Gen Con wrapped Days: 4 Live shows: 1 Panels: 2 Game haul: 5 New games played: 6 (shout out Last Train to Bremen good god) Pictures: Basically none Rad folks met: Too many to count If we met and I didn’t have a card (like a silly lil guy) hit me up here!
There are places I remember. All my life, though some have changed 🚣❄️ The gang returns to some familiar ground. Duff rows a boat, Bo takes a swim, Archie zigs and zags. Listen here: buff.ly/3G7shJP
I have some questions about how people from Widow's Bay get out of jury duty.
The people of Ohio have been ROBBED. The artist is on instagram and her work is incredible. www.instagram.com/nsmetters/
How do you not give the prize to this one??

Markings are in place at Denny and Boren for the big switch for I-5 traffic starting this Saturday. Temporary signage is currently giving drivers a warning about the closure of the Yale slip lane.
My letter to the WA Supreme Ct earlier this evening urging diploma privilege as a remedy for the disastrous failed attempt at administering the July 2026 WA Bar Exam, and its unwise postponement to September. No altogether good options, but equity and fairness require diploma privilege for the… 1/2
Tonight was very special. Back to back to back 8s. The first, twenty minutes late. The second, ten. The third was on time.
I am on a bus that took ten minutes to go from Westlake to Fairview.
I would have thrown myself out a window.
"Dear Applicant, With deep regret, I write to inform you that Washington’s July 2026 administration of the NextGen bar exam has been cancelled. We will not continue tomorrow. . . . We do not have sufficient confidence that the technology issues have been resolved . . . . We sincerely apologize."
God I fucking hate the bar exam. It's expensive. It's massively stressful. It's a huge time commitment (anyone who honestly says you can work and study is selling something), which means it's automatically going to be more accessible for people with money. And every year there's some massive fuckup.

If anyone wants to give me $50,000 to see if it'll change my life, I am happy to accept your offer.
The older I get, the more I understand and relate to the middle age dad instinct to put some kind of sport on so there's a game going on in the background.
I am on a bus that took ten minutes to go from Westlake to Fairview.
Took an hour to get home on the 8 yesterday. Played all the greatest hits: getting stuck at Westlake through multiple light cycles. Getting passed by another 8. Bus driver finally giving up and pulling into the left lane to get up to Fairview. These bus lanes can't come soon enough.
I've been looking for a good guide on the state supreme court races and here it is.

Long-awaited upgrades to one of the city's busiest bus corridors are just a few days away, with SDOT set to permanently close the often-clogged slip lane onto Yale Avenue on August 1. A full eastbound bus lane will be installed by the end of August.
