#NBAHindsight No. 5: Only trade draft capital for underpaid/overperforming players. The last four Finals teams had underpaid players. It's tough to win big without them in an apron league. The draft is the main source of underpaid players. Thus, only trade draft assets to add such a player.
This study is a textbook example of statistical significance not meaning clinical significance. The "small spikes" equated to a couple minutes. I'm confident saying these "small spikes" were ultimately meaningless. It's also the problem of using linear statistics to explain nonlinear dynamics.
NBA players’ Achilles tendon tears are linked to small spikes in playing time, study finds
The injury is one of basketball’s most serious. A recent study found that players logged more minutes than their season averages during the 10 to 15 games before their Achilles tendons ruptured.

🎬 Marlowe (1969)Crime • Mystery • Neo-NoirBefore modern detective thrillers became the norm, Philip Marlowe was already setting the standard. 🕵️♂️Marlowe stars James Garner as the iconic private investigator created by legendary crime novelist Raymond Chandler. Hired to investigate what appears to be a simple missing-person case, Marlowe is soon pulled into a dangerous web of murder, blackmail, corruption, and deception where every clue leads to another secret.Directed by Paul Bogart and adapted from Chandler's novel The Little Sister, the film blends classic detective storytelling with the stylish atmosphere of late-1960s neo-noir cinema. Packed with sharp dialogue, memorable twists, and morally complex characters, it remains a fascinating entry in the long history of Philip Marlowe adaptations. One of the film's biggest highlights is an appearance by Bruce Lee, whose brief but unforgettable martial arts scene has become one of the movie's most talked-about moments.🎭 Starring: • James Garner as Philip Marlowe • Bruce Lee • Gayle Hunnicutt • Carroll O'Connor • Rita Moreno • William Daniels⭐ A classic detective film that combines mystery, suspense, and old-school noir charm with an unforgettable cast.#Marlowe #JamesGarner #BruceLee #NeoNoir #ClassicMovies

It's so dang easy to spot a mfer that's never been in a supermarket or shopped for food for their family ever in their life.
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
DeRozan is a very good basketball player (and will get in to the HoF one day) but no one, and I mean no one, clutters up a team's offensive spacing like DeRozan. I would be gutted if they sign him cause I have *really* high hopes for the offense this season.
#Celtics should consider signing free agent veteran DeMar DeRozan. He still has some gas left in the tank and it might be worth it for Boston to kick the tires on this despite it putting them back into the tax: thecelticsfiles.wordpress.com/2026/08/02/c...
Hi #BLUENBA. I declare August to be NBA Hindsight Month! Hit me with your greatest hindsights from the summer transaction season, or read mine. One per day until Aug 31st or the bit gets old.
Stairway to Heaven is the world's most overrated song. It's not good. (And I love Zeppelin)
Post your hottest music take. Mine is New Order is better than Joy Division.
This week, we started our first of two conference previews for the 2026-27 NBA regular season with Yahoo Sports' @msjnba.bsky.social , taking a deep dive into how the West may pan out -- and how it could impact Boston. Check it out!
I would be *very* interested in Zach Lavine for the Cs bench if he gets bought out. Def not as a starter. If he wants to take a small deal to rehab his value. He is flawed as a defender, no doubt. But he is an elite, ELITE, 3 level scorer. He would go off in Joe's system with all that space.
leaning back in my chair, running a hand over my chin, tapping on the desk for a minute, then clicking "interested"

It doesn't matter that Trump bombed. What matters is that they gave him a platform to do it. And then sat there like good little simps.
"Somehow Trump still has a hunger to go into a black tie event to try to win the affection of people he sees on TV, no matter how hopeless his prospects. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world if he can’t even get a chuckle out of Wolf Blitzer?"

As is always the case, @motorcityhoops.bsky.social and @samvecenie.bsky.social give calm, measured takes on LeBron James to Philly and how that affects JB (and everyone else). Def worth your time to give the latest @gametheorysamv.bsky.social a listen.
This week on "Havlicek Stole the Pod", we spoke with @motorcityhoops.bsky.social about Chris Cenac Jr., Dillon Mitchell, and what we should expect from them in their first year in the NBA. Check it out!
How funny would it be if Philly does acquire Bronny after JB was caught on camera dissing him in summer league? That's the kind of NBA soap opera drama I'm here for.
Today might've been the last day that LeBron ever chooses a new team, and as much as people sometimes say they're annoyed by his melodrama, omg are we going to miss this man when he retires. It's hard to even conceive of this league without LeBron intrigue driving it.
I cannot begin to tell you all how excited I am to watch the 76ers win 45 games and lose in the first round of the playoffs next season.
