Well, I guess Electronic Arts belongs to Saudi Arabia, private equity, and Jared Kushner now. https://kotaku.com/electronic-arts-officially-belongs-saudi-arabia-jared-kushner-now-2000721666

i think, now, more than ever its really important to interact with people who like your art and vice versa, and cultivate more community and trust among artists and commissioners and followers in general. its not a perfect system by any means but i think building trust between everyone will help

This is what people mean by AI is theft. Someone I know later found out an artist (16k followers) they got a commision from uses AI and now they don't have funds to commish me or another artist they like. Not only does the slop machine steal art, these scammers directly steal work from real artists

What can you do? CALL. WRITE. SCREAM. The bill is up for a vote THIS WEDNESDAY. Call your Senator. Dem. Republican. Whomever. Right now, it's a solid R bill, but they're looking for Dems to take it across the finish line. Let them know how badly it stinks. www.defendonlineprivacy.com/screen/

there are definitely downsides to the nuclear block but the reason I keep coming back to it as necessary and good is that it completely ruined the whole MAGA engagement model to the point that they prefer to mock us from the nazi bar rather than come here to troll us directly

Bluesky oldheads will remember that brief period of time when the conservative trolls tried to storm the place and were flummoxed by the idea they would have to organically grow an audience and that someone who didn't want to talk to them could nuke every interaction they ever had from orbit

Also the fact that the game's screenshots have a "Draft with AI" button that lets you functionally let the game play itself is a morbid microcosm of how thoughtless this entire endeavor is.

A screenshot of "POTUS Election Sim" that shows a bog standard AI text box with a prompt asking the user to write their national address. In the lower right is a button labeled "Deliver address -> Congressional vote." On the lower right is a button labeled "Draft with AI."

Putting aside all the obvious ways this is bad, I do kind of want to ask: what exactly is being "simulated" here? Because by all accounts it looks like you're just doing a structured but still improvisational narrative generation with an AI, not executing a rules-based system to simulate something.
