Look up Canadians, the freedom of information and movement proposed in this American bill, isn't that different or far off from what our govt has already enacted 'for the sake of protecting children'. Yet for some odd reason, no relating responsibility for content creators or hosts 🤷🏼

Another bill. S.5090 — the Digital Age Assurance Act — requires every OS provider to collect age data before the OS runs. No open-source carve-out. GrapheneOS's accountless design would be illegal. We read it: https://www.thebluf.news/p/digital-age-assurance-act-grapheneos-account-mandate

It’s super unserious to live to witness our pre-apocalyptic hellworld that went from being a boundless source of infinite sustenance to having a crumbling ecosystem only since the 3rd Industrial Revolution & fix your mouth to say that it is the socialists that are going to kill us all.

To explain for foreigners: our energy regulator rubber-stamps price rises; the water regulator tuts while rivers fill up with human shit; the press regulator wags an occasional finger, and the national equality body enforces press campaigns against groups of people they hate and wish to damage.

Britain, where the national equality body is a boobyhatch jam-packed with wingnut cranks who fervently believe their job is creating weapons for police to hammer minorities that the press hates and wants to harm.

Code of practice provides weapon to defend single-sex spaces
Organisations have long ignored the law on self-identity. The EHRC rules which take effect today will not end that but are nevertheless a victory

transjustice.org.au/prison/ Just signed. Despite having my Gender Confirmation Surgery in 1998 & having a female birth certificate I could be potentially sent to a male prison. How did Minns get this passed in Parliament? He’s a Labor Premier & should stand up for us. @kirstimiller30.bsky.social

trans woman beaten and then taken to a men’s jail for standing outside the bathroom and waiting for her partner. she wasn’t even in it this is where the “fairness in sports,” discussion takes us; legitimizing a mob beating a woman in public

A trans couple has been brutalized by a mob, and then the trans woman ended up being arrested afterwards, at a public bathroom in Louisiana. EITM writer S Baum investigates this horrible act of violence in our latest piece. www.erininthemorning.com/p/trans-coup...

Louisiana does not have an anti-trans bathroom ban on the books, so this was wholly legal for these two to use the washroom. I am INCENSED 🔥🔥🔥 Yes we know how we got here, and ALL of us must do more to protect the safety and human rights of Trans persons, in person, in everyday life.

Did you see how Apple, Amazon Walmart and other big companies are refunding the billions of dollars they got back from the federal tariff settlement to their customers, who ultimately bore the cost of higher prices? Yea, me neither.

Do you think in Nazi Germany many Germans weren't happily living, going to church & school & parties & enjoying nice outings with their families, with good jobs & stable lives? And the Holocaust was happening. That who you are now if you ignore America's glaring, alarming fascism.

It's a point I've been trying to make for a long time: there is no good way to meet even 10% of current demand for animal products. They trash the living world, whichever way you do it. If you want to reduce your impact, switch to a plant-based diet. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Every single Liberal MP who hasn't left the party in disgust should be ashamed of themselves. But they won't be. You need to have pre-existing ethics and morals to actually be ashamed of yourself for breaking them. I cannot believe how shitty our leaders are right now. It's beyond belief.
