Queer stuff, science, Star Trek, politics, comics, and the Beaubier twins. Hi!

This is important to note! Republicans scheduled their Medicare cuts for January 2027. They want to say, “Look! The Democrats took back the House and cut your Medicare.” If you know someone on Medicare, expose the Republicans' dirty trick. #USDemocracy #MomSky #RepublicanMedicareCuts

The Big Ugly Bill cut Medicare by $536 billion starting AFTER the elections. What kind of thoughtless idiocy cuts programs that seniors' lives depend on and thinks they won't notice? #MomSky #RepublicanMedicareCuts

Black women in America are more than twice as likely as white women to have a stillbirth. Getting physicians to take their concerns seriously is one reason for this disparity, they say: “If you’re a Black woman, you get dismissed.” From the archives:

And keep in mind: if all those people wanted was to talk with other dickheads, they were and are still free to do that. But they don’t WANT that. They want to bother US. They literally have nothing to say to each other, because their entire social media experience is just howler monkey bullshit.

Today I told the very nice person in McInnis's office that once Yale cuts a deal with Trump, it turns itself into a white supremacist institution. I mean, many folks will tell you it always has been. But once you cut a deal with the country's biggest white supremacist, it's undeniable.

Mad at Yale trying to cut a deal with Trump? Call President McInnis! A very nice person just answered the phone over there and took my comment - said they update McInnis with our comments every day! president.yale.edu/contact-us

Thanks to everyone that came by and said hello at AWU this weekend!! I deeply appreciated seeing folks and talkin’ with y’all. Gonna get readjusted and get back to art.

A maned wolf and a river otter are making eye contact as they run towards the right of the image. Behind both of their heads are golden halos with orange spikes looking like sun rays surrounding the halos. The background is in a celestial style with stars of different shapes and a gradient of the sky from darker sky blue at the top to pale blue below. At the bottom of the piece are some blue-gray clouds. There’s a golden border with stars at the lower bottom corners. In the upper left corner is a side profile of a moon with a human face with its eyes closed. On the upper right corner is a sun with a human face with eyes closed. There is a golden outline around the maned wolf and river otter.

From a Fox Poll out 7/31: Talarico-Paxton is the marquee race down here but check out the dead heat btw Abbott and Hinojosa for governor. This contest isn't even on the radar for the national Dems, AFAIK. She's has $3m cash on hand--Abbott has *$67m*. Some more highlights from the poll... /1

Polling results showing Greg Abbott leading Gina Hinojosa by only 50-49 percent.

The richest person in the world, an avowed white supremacist, today again posted "the next step is getting rid of 'source code' entirely and just making an efficient binary directly with AI" because he has no idea how anything works, not even the basics of industries he is in.

people could respond to this framing around reporting deaths—"had significant underlying health conditions"—with more confidence if we weren't also living through a pandemic in which we have been told only people who have "underlying health issues" are "vulnerable" or "at risk"

Breaking News: Two deaths in Michigan have been linked to cyclospora. Both people who had the parasite also had underlying health issues.
