In case you are an academic who is currently being gaslit into believing that you're a caveman who wants their students to be jobless if you resist allowing AI in your classrooms... I present to you Berkeley Law's response, which can be summarized as "Fuck off directly into the sun."

Artificial Intelligence Policy

Effective Summer 2026 Purpose Future lawyers may need to use artificial intelligence (“AI”) fluently. But the current state of the technology requires that AI use be coupled with the cognitive […]

My husband Drew wrote this at breakneck speed while moving cross-country and caring for an 8 month old, bc he felt it was necessary, ethically and politically, to correct the record. If you read Tyler Austin Harper's piece, I hope you'll read this.

Andrew Baker was also a “token black professor” at Bates College. But his perspective on the events Tyler Austin Harper recounts in his Atlantic cover story is very different. Read Baker’s side of the story online today. newsletter.thedriftmag.com/p/racism-and...

Something I've been thinking about a lot lately -- Litigation is one of part of what Seth Kreimer called the "ecology of transparency" in the U.S. Discovery, the presumptive openness of court records, etc. It's also a vehicle for sorting truth from falsehoods thru sanctions, evidentiary rules, 1/2

Laura Provinzino - district judge in the Don Lemon case (and a former federal prosecutor) - requiring the government to give her the grand jury materials for in camera review including the grand jury minutes. Seldom happens; it’s what exploded the Broadview 6 case in Chicago.

A week later and they're now up to 164.65K posted (out of 496,606 that the site lists as received by the July 13th deadline). My comment is still not posted, for one! Also, their site reports that they've posted only 99 comments in the past 3 days. Link to docket in the quote posted thread.

Update on that terrible OMB proposed rule to politicize science funding -- they've still not posted all comments. Shortly after comments closed, a month ago, they'd posted about 50K. Now they're at 71K, and posting more each day. They've still not posted my comment, for one. (Link to docket below)

Anybody happen to have a link to the Disney / ABC complaint against the FCC? I've been tied up the past few hours and just now looking to read it but not seeing it linked in the news stories I've seen thus far. Thank you!!!

It's really tough to have economic growth when the population is shrinking. These people think that removing immigrants will open up opportunities for natives, when in reality what happens is you remove people who provide services to natives and consume goods from American firms. Disaster.

Some home-care agencies have shut down since July 27, when the Trump administration took legal status from 350k Haitian immigrants. Nursing homes, hotels, retailers, are scrambling to fill vacant positions and restaurants are scaling back operating hours. www.wsj.com/us-news/revo...

One thing so terrifying about the current regime, that not even Confederate traitors, the Klan, or segregationists figured out how to do, is using federal instruments to seize capital from everyday Americans and redistribute it to white supremacists and insurrectionists

When asked by NBC if he’ll rule out approving payouts of taxpayer money to Jan 6 rioters … Todd Blanche says he won’t rule that out.

WELKER: Can you pledge the DOJ will always act independently of the WH? BLANCHE: No, I'm not going to pledge that WELKER: So if the president asked you do to something that you feel crosses an ethical or legal line, would you do it? BLANCHE: He would never do that. He never has. He never will.

Immediately after Jan 6, Trump’s approval ratings tanked to the lowest point of his first term (to roughly where they are right now, in fact). It was only as time went on, and elite institutions signaled that maybe it hadn’t been such a big deal, that people stopped caring as immediately

As silly as the whole "the right has no cultural influence" argument is, the whole edifice is indeed a depressing look into the mind of a typical American swing voter
