Today I learned that baby cranes are called "colts" because their legs are so long and they can run around like idiots shortly after hatching. This is delightful, I enjoy knowing this.

photo of two sandhill crane colts that are about 50% leg and 50% neck and head and taking some big steppies.

So so proud of my kid. She told me her (online) friend was depressed and Kid told her to talk to her doctor. Turns out her “doctor” is a chiropractor and any therapy she’d get would be religious counseling. IOW: antivax wingnuts in a deep red state. Kiddo said oh HELL no (internally)

spouse’s aunt: come over for our housewarming/July 4 party! Us: ok cool aunt: also we’re getting married in the morning Us: wait what Just dropped that with less than a week’s notice and no engagement 😂 New favorite aunt. (They’ve been together for years, this is not some whirlwind thing)

We know that Amazon Prime Day is often a crock of shit, so I am here to help you out. The main problem: brands play pricing games by jacking up the price right before Prime Day, so the deal looks better than it is. A way to fight it: the tiny little “price history” button. >

Hat tip to Express Scripts which charged retail price on Vyvanse (~$140 EACH) because after I meet my deductible they require me to get a 90-day supply of any maintenance medication. I called them and the rep insisted they could ship it to me, it says so right here, they do it all the time!

You know… I’ve been through quite possibly the most deliberately cruel thing someone with my flavor of neurodivergence could experience and it still bothers me, a lot, even though it’s been a long time. But I never once looked back, which is true growth that I am so proud of.

HugeMcLargeCorp: hey we have a global meeting scheduled! It’s important! See you there! Meeting date: Memorial Day HMLC: uhhhh due to holidays in several companies we’re moving that to the next day! See you all there at 7 am the day after Memorial Day! …I don’t think that’s going to help much
