this year i've decided to get behind the college football teams in my adopted home state of ohio. time to take a big sip of coffee and look up who kent state plays in week one.
I think I can say categorically: there is not a single prominent right-wing media figure, including many that regularly campaign with & for Republican candidates, who has not said worse things than the worst thing Hasan Piker has ever said on at least a weekly basis. Why does no one care?
I wish more journalists would point out that Sen. McConnell and Rep. Tom Kean (missed 4 months of work) are/were essentially on paid sick & medical leave. The same employment protection they’ve spent their careers blocking other Americans from having.

Nathan Newman@nathansnewman.bsky.social · 3mo agoI don't like Newsom to begin with, but this disqualifies him all by itself. Anyone who leave a brick standing that Trump put in place is just inviting the next authoritarian to do the same thing. Destruction in this case is cleansing.
Listen, I feel worse about Platner with each passing day. But the reason it’s so different when we found out about republicans doing Nazi cosplay is that their policies are bringing America closer to Nazism every day, and we’re finding out that they’re doing it on purpose.

And by the way, when you consider the disenfranchisement of the people of DC, we have the wrong number of states in the US

I don’t know … we used to subscribe to magazines and newspapers that covered things we’re interested in, not things that we weren’t interested, such as reading racial slurs. Things seemed okay then.
Corey Atad@coreyatad.com · 4mo agoi think, end of the day, the real problem with Bluesky is that most of its users are here *because* they want to be in a bubble. and they can tell themselves that it’s just about not being around Nazis it supporting Musk, and that’s part of it, but also there’s a palpable desire to be ensconced.

one of my biggest complaints about drake has always been that his albums are way too long. just because we are no longer constrained by what a CD can physically hold doesn’t mean we need 20-track albums. so him releasing three albums at once feels like an attack on me, personally.
