Honestly, nothing beats the classic "PDF and highlighter tool" approach. Currently knee-deep in 15th century banditry and outlawry for a romantasy series. For Bard, my research consisted of bothering my partner whose DnD world I was borrowing 😅

Considering it starts as a kidnapping and Corinne doesn't see his face until chapter 3, I'd say it's more like grudging roadtrip partners at first sight. With the money at stake, they're stuck together 🤷‍♀️ Oh, and it takes them well into book 2 for the love confessions to come into play.

I made a typeset PDF for my ARCs for Book 1 and I've since formatted all of my drafts like this, too. I can't say it gives me any real benefit but it looks nice, is easier to read, and feels a little more professional, you know? It's like a little publishing as a treat #WritingTips #WriteSky

I 100% have not changed a single goddamn thing about how I write here in the age of "AI." I write how I write. If the "AI" writes anything like how I write, it's because it stole from me. I'm gonna use any punctuation I like, and if it looks "AI"ish to you, you can go fuck yourself.

FYI there is no "real" reason why Rome "fell." Its power waned for the usual, mundane reasons: widening gap between rich and poor, inability to maintain infrastructure, incompetent leadership, pointless wars, endless persecution of marginalized groups who performed vital labor, etc.

Just because an author hasn't released a book in years doesn't mean that they're lazy or not working hard on their next one. There's so many reasons for a big gap between novels. Granted, in my case, it's because I'm lazy and not working particularly hard but I mean for others.
