Rozi the cheetah purrs 😻 Sound on for beautiful cheetah purrs! Cats can either roar or purr, they can’t do both. Lions & tigers can roar, but they can’t purr. Cheetahs can purr, but they can’t roar.

NEWS — Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear criticizes fellow Democrats who say transgender athletes should be barred from women’s sports. “That is not the party that we are. We start as a party of compassion and empathy.”

I haven’t heard The Song™️ (that I know of, at least?) and I only know the artist because she was in a credit card or something ad on tv, namelessly, as though we should know who she was, so we googled it. But I don’t do Tiktok and rarely watch videos on IG.

Not letting summer go quite yet, and I used up a bunch of surplus veggies in the fridge. Someday I’ll be caught up! Corn, cherry tomato, and pepper salad, rIffed off of a Lidey recipe from NYT. Details in alt text as per usual. 🍽️🍜

Salad composed of raw corn, lightly sautéed coins of shishito peppers (plus a few green & white striped sweet peppers from my farm share), halved red cherry tomatoes, diced tropea onion, crumbled cotija cheese, tossed in a lime-cumin vinaigrette.

Why is the U.S. public so much more negative on AI than almost anyone else? Well, I think the fact that the U.S. AI industry is being lead by a bunch of very visible, crazy weirdos who talk about how AI will take everyone’s job and maybe kill us all the time is a pretty key factor.

People around the world have interestingly divergent opinions on AI - but most agree that they expect it to cause more job loss than growth: www.pewresearch.org/global/2026/...

Here's a neat thing! My mom retired after 25+ as a children's librarian at public libraries yesterday. (It was very cool! Hundreds of former Story Hour kids arrived, some as adults!) I let Ed Markey's office know in case they wanted to send a nice email back and they sent this! He's still got it!

based on a suggestion from someone, my lunch today was shrimp ramen noodle cup, most of the broth drained off, added peanut butter, some sriracha, and a packed of TrueLime powder. It was pretty dang tasty! 🍽️🍜

Look goddamnit It's entirely possible To eat a plum And not make a poem about it The one I just ate Wasn't even in the Goddamn refrigerator Or anything Sometimes a plum Is just a plum You can just eat it And go on with your life WHAT Why are you looking at me What'd I do now (looks) oh GODDAMNIT

By the time this merger ruins HBO, destroys WB, gets 5,000 people fired, moves production overseas, and guts the quality of the movies the new studio makes, most people will have forgotten how fast the AGs caved and how little they got in this deal. Writers will not.

Have so many tomatoes (SO MANY) so have a big pan of them roasting in the oven to make into sauce, and it smells so good in here this morning!

It’s very simple and it’s been said over and over but I guess it needs saying continuously: if you deem one group too small to have equal rights you are enabling fascism, not fighting it. The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.

Nichole Hiltz
The Democrats defend the Kennedy Center but not trans people.
A building.

@treewarrior.bsky....
maybe because defending everything about a super small minority of the population is not worth losing to fascists

It's been a weird earworm week. One day I heard Bryan Adams Summer of '69 on the radio on the way home from work, so it was stuck in my head. went out for a walk later and i could hear it off in the distance "how is my earworm projecting out into the real world?!".
