Only sprayed red copper so far due to a request for that, but will do test spoons for the set soon. (Need to get more spoons if I can). Over white it has a little more color intensity & with retarder thinner (right) it came out a lot more muted somehow. Left is Vallejo hammered copper to compare.

Any luck and I might get the paints after waking up later today! I am excited. Even just to find out what colours I actually got, because for being an art supply company their naming & representation on site sure is quite terrible. Because what do you mean these are Violet?

Finally pulled the plug on buying some Gaahleri Kaleido acrylic paints to find out if they truly live up to the hype and their durability works properly for model kits with joints that move and scrape. Can only describe the shopping experience as rancid, but customer support was fast & friendly.

It's such a good feeling when something you were hesitant to work on clicks and you end up getting really into and happy with it instead.

Yesterday after getting up I hit my pinky toe. Today started much better and I saw a Hummingbird hawk-moth. My dad used to love these and it's easy to see (& hear if you are close) why.

Another bird book, this one unearthed in a pile of ordinary animal books and pounced on because of the beautiful lithographed illustrations. Batsford produced beautiful books. This one has reproductions of some of John Gould’s paintings and the colours are very rich. @horstp8r.bsky.social

Wanted to share this children’s oversize booklet from 1917. I found it in a box of miscellaneous paper and was instantly enchanted by the illustrations. @horstp8r.bsky.social
