Windfall tax on colossal bank profits could raise £19bn in 2026. Result of profiteering and govt policies. Sufficient to increase frozen personal income tax allowance by nearly £2,000. Banks paid out £25bn in bonuses in the year to March, can easily pay more tax.

No, this exactly the kind of “free speech” they have always believed in: special Freedom Plus for themselves, and PC Plod banging on your door to finger wag you for impertinence, while they phone your boss and try to get you fired.
What’s amazing about the Telegraph crew is how thin their pretence of believing in ‘free speech’ really is.
We wasted the opportunity to build public wealth from oil and gas. Let's not make the same mistake with renewables.
The “cowardly French” and the “incompetent Irish”, at its heart Brexit was the last gasp of imperial British exceptionalism. In their minds Britain was being held back by its small minded, feckless, cowardly partners and would thrive once it was unshackled from the EU and “forged its own path”.

It does seem odd that Epstein was able to directly suborn at least one serving government minister, while flying his private plane in and out of military bases in Britain and visiting e.g. Buckingham Palace and one of the royal family’s private retreats. Presumably nothing dodgy going on there.
I think the best way to read this obvious propaganda is as a determination by the party right (through its Guardian-friendly mouthpiece, Labour Together) to keep the membership small and reliably anti-left. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

"When it comes to the very obscenely rich in America, I take an aggressive zero-tolerance attitude. Break their monopolies. Seize their estates. Confiscate their wealth. They have built a system by which to steal our freedom as well as our money. They are criminals. We should treat them as such."

Lovely woman on the only checkout open in “Moscow” Morrisons (a 70s shithole supermarket with no food). A nasty, miserable old bastard growls at her - rudeness personified. Never trust anyone who’s rude to waiters, barstaff, anyone who works in retail. Shithousers one and all.
Liberal England: Finlay J. Macdonald visits the Flannan Isles and their lighthouse I once had bed and breakfast at Breasclete on the west coast of Lewis, and the owner was the grandson of one of the men aboard the Hesperus when it went out to the isles in 1900 to see what was amiss with the light.
