Photography and bullshit, not necessarily in that order. If you follow me for photography be ready to put up with some bullshit; if you follow me for bullshit good news, you'll also get to see some pretty pictures time to time as a bonus! He/they

Was walking in the mangroves in Grenada a few years ago and caught a glimpse of this juvenile LBH behind deep cover, took a few obstructed pics but couldn't find a clear shot, but when I got home realized it actually came out moody and cool framed by the bushes #fabulouswaders #birdoftheday #birds

Good morning all. For today's #BirdOfTheDay theme I've chosen #FabulousWaders Any wading bird that you love! For me it's the Avocet, a calm and graceful beauty wading along the shoreline! 🤍🪶 The Alt. theme is #Speckled any bird with speckled patterns on its plumage. 📷 #birds #photography #ECK

A close up photograph showing the head and upper body of an Avocet wading bird. It is seen in side profile appearing from the left as viewed with a predominantly white body, black feather patches on its wings, back of its neck and the top of the Avocets head. It has a thin black bill that curves sharply upward towards the end. It is leaning slightly forward looking down having lifted its head from hunting for food along the mudflats at low tide. Taken on a sunny bright early morning, the background is a dark golden brown in colour from the muddy water and reflecting sunlight giving it a slight shimmer. Seen on the North East coast, UK

Weed habits of Star Trek TNG characters: Picard: doesn’t disapprove, but not a regular user. Smoked it therapeutically while recovering from being assimilated. Smoked with Vash and that MILFy Baku lady from Insurrection but never with a member of his crew

It's wild to think soneone once asked themself "is there anything more frustrating than navigating a keypad based phone menu," and then by the very act of inventing the voice recognition kind to replace them made the answer to their original question "definitely yes"

There's something kind of special about how the YouTube comments section for any song that got play on the radio 10 or more years ago, regardless how mediocre, is the most positive place on the entire damned internet...

Does bus service in the suburbs suck because nobody wants to ride the bus, or does nobody want to ride the bus because the service sucks? The answer is almost certainly "not 'or,' 'and.'"

Graffiti on a bus pole, the marker ink is somewhat worn but you can just make out "WHEN DOES THE BUS COME? Metro hates the Eastside"

I feel like a discussion of the history of fascist movements painting political opposition as "subnormal" and pathological and where that road leads might be more apropos vis a vis those Rubio statements going around than "hah you're one to talk, ugly" comebacks

I feel like "Three Little Birds," one of those songs everyone knows but probably half of people wouldn't know if you just said the name, gets read one level too shallow a lot, like everyone gets the "don't worry about a thing" message, which alone can feel trite, but to me what matters is the birds.

Also if we do ever go to year-round daylight time it is IMPERATIVE that we rename it standard time so the people who label time zones as "[X]ST" regardless will finally not be wrong half the time

Since we're on year-round time discourse I know it'd never happen because being a non-integer number of hours off UTC and most other countries is a hassle but tbh for permanent time something halfway between DT and ST would otherwise be a pretty good compromise at least in my geographic location...
