Our analysis of the UK Conversion Practices bill remains the same. It is insufficient and, in fact, if passed in its current form it would actively damage the fight against conversion practices. The Scottish Government must proceed with its own far more comprehensive and well-designed bill.

Westminster has published its conversion practices bill: www.gov.uk/government/p... We will be looking more carefully at it in the coming days - initial concerns include the lack of mention of suppression of behaviours and relying on definitions for sexuality now unfit due to SC judgement on "sex"

This is absolutely appalling and showing a capitulation by Amnesty to the anti trans lobby. Is there any organisation left that will stand up for us?

Moscogiuri, now chief executive of Amnesty International UK, responded and proposed reconciliation. She said that Amnesty "regretted" uploading the briefing, which said gender-critical groups and activists were an "anti-rights movement" and a "growing threat". "Its use of language does not reflect the position of Amnesty International UK, which is why it was promptly removed," she said. "We remain committed to defending human rights, including both the rights of women and the rights of trans people. "Human rights protections are strongest when they apply equally to everyone, and no community should be singled out for unfair treatment or denied their dignity and rights." She added: "I agree that it would be good for us to meet, and would be very happy to meet you, as you say in the spirit of a commitment to human rights."
