The best TTRPG GMs *interpret* the characters as rich texts & agents in of themselves, and then offer NPCs, lore, and fraught situations that play on characters' core themes & traits. GMs are consantly reading both the characters-as-conceived and also the characters-as-played.

I have been shown maybe one of the most ignorant takes on the zombie genre I've ever seen and I'm... I'm not mad. I'm disappointed. Some people, I swear, their knowledge of zombie fiction begins and ends at The Walking Dead.

Generative AI psychosis and delusion is a real thing, as is the degradation of analytical skills. This increasingly makes conversations difficult with those who have "converted" to using it. Along with the clickbait-ification of everything and the adoption of predatory logarithms. Stay vigilant.

GM Tip: Players often want to make highly competent characters and don't think to put conflict into their backstories. But conflict is great for making good stories! Ask the players to come up with at least one messy part of their past that can be mined for ideas in the campaign. #ttrpg #dnd #rpg
