Q: I’m told that Vivek Ramaswamy left you a congratulatory phone call. Have the two of you spoken? Governor-elect Amy Acton: We can’t normalize behavior like this. It was so beyond the pale, so no, I have no intention of speaking to him. Leaders’ words matter and we need to hold folks accountable.

Just to put a bow on this: When Musk announced the Cybertruck in 2019 he said it would available in late 2021 and cost $40k. He and Tesla bulls hyped the 1.5 million “waiting list”. He projected 250-500 k sales/year. It showed up in late 2023 It cost $100k Lifetime sales (wait for it) 71k

the fact of the matter is that the public began to turn against trump in the spring of 2025 and that it was clear, by the end of the year, that trump was in terminal decline barring a drastic change of course. the Iran war made things worse, but did not set the path.

I should add that with an open presidential campaign beginning in earnest in late 2027 the window here is even tighter. They need to come out of the gate strong because time is not on their side

The last time Democrats had something like this margin was in the first two years of the Obama administration (257-178), but that majority was soon crushed by the Tea Party wave in 2010. Political power doesn't last forever. Use it or lose it.

Absolute devastation and I love it. The MAGA movement's political power must be destroyed for democracy to endure. This is a decent start. Now they gotta tax the billionaires out of political power.

Graphic from NBC reading:

NBC News projects Democrats win control.

The NBC News Decision Desk is continuing to project races. Our estimate indicates Democrats will ultimately wind up with a 83-seat majority.

There's a ton of whining and cope from election deniers that the blowout was "impossible" or that the "math doesn't add up" therefore the election was stolen. But it's confined to social media. Big GOP figures aren't getting behind it, and Trump seems uninterested. Very predictable far.

voters across the country voted for several ballot measures that amount to "torture trans children", absolute shame on the democratic party leadership for abandoning our community and allowing this

extremely hilarious to me personally that everywhere they sent vance to campaign the candidates got the shit slapped out of them

if alaska flips and mississippi holds then a 56 seat senate majority opens up the potential for a filibuster proof one after 2028. with that kind of majority, you can do real deal structural change. as well as reinstate the rights and protections stripped by the supreme court

I was reading today about how the dust on Mars is so small, so fine that if you breathe it in, it will enter the blood stream and breach the blood-brain barrier. They should go to Mars. I'm pro them going to Mars.

Honestly in shock. @nytimes.com terminated the contract of romance fiction columnist Olivia Waite because she reposted on Bluesky criticism I and @markjacob.bsky.social had of the paper’s lack of coverage of the new rape allegations against Donald Trump. Details and a statement from Olivia here:

It's so frustrating how journalists continue to just take police at their word, despite a documented history of police manipulating facts for political gain. Like how former NYPD Commish Shea kept telling the press that bail reformed caused the shooting spike ... until he was under oath.

Nasty work by the Times here. Law enforcement sources say they found "some evidence" that Ilhan Omar married her brother, but the paper doesn't say who they are or what the evidence is. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/29/u...
