We should never forget how the BBC has changed this country by giving endless airtime to Nigel Farage and other rightwing extremists, while shutting out progressive voices.
And why is #r4today giving (yet again) such prominence to a hair-brained scheme that has little chance to ever be implemented? A GE is unlikely soon and the threat of Reform winning it is apparently receding. What is the justification for legitimising it?

A few days ago someone in a chat I’m in shared this screenshot and I genuinely, unironically dismissed it as a poorly made “modern AAA version of” meme because it didn’t even cross my mind this could be real
Maaaan the Halo remake is exhaustingly Modern in its bullshit... Cortana has all kinds of extra tutorial dialogue. The intro of invisible elites, instead of being a scary moment of guys suddenly dropping dead around you, is her going "Invisible elites!! Look for distortions in the air!" Christ alive
Update: Sandyford’s adult waiting list validation exercise has now finished. If you joined the waiting list before August 2024 and haven’t heard from them, please get in touch. For more information, see our post here: www.scottishtrans.org/sandyford-ad...

just as I was writing all that we got an email from IRIS saying they're increasing their prices. speak of the devil eh
posting about bookkeeping and accountancy instead of actually doing my bookkeeping and accountancy job is one of my favourite activities
agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly, particularly given how difficult it is to navigate registering and paying for self-assessment these days with HMRC on a skeleton crew
For one thing, it's automatically done for employed folk - they don't have to think about it or lift a finger to calculate their tax owed or pay it For self-employed people, it's an additional burden We also don't have things like holiday pay, sick pay or other benefits 3/
in my experience the real complication is explaining to people they're being asked to pre-pay for a self-assessment they haven't even submitted yet, and therefore will almost certainly be different from the amount you initially pay
Self-employed people! Sorry to put a downer on your Sunday, but in case you'd not seen, the Government wants us to pay our tax *monthly* like we're employees or something With the World Cup and all the politics, I'd missed the consultation they put out last month, which is here: 1/
#FailteacherYuri • #39: i'll take responsibility!
Honestly I'm just surprised he found a manifesto pledge that Starmer hadn't already broke, that's dedication to the bit
So Andy Burnham has repeatedly committed to sticking to Labour's 2024 manifesto, yet we're now told that his first major announcement will be breaking its commitment not to drill for new oil and gas in the North Sea.
EVERY MEMBER OF KASABIAN LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE JUST TOLD THEM THEY’RE IN KASABIAN
i am losing my MIND. apparently quote tweeting someone saying some insane and hurtful shit to you is now a "pile on". it is now illegal to be told to shut the fuck up if you say shit things to people
