Seeing a lot of references to wildfire, smoke and climate change, understandably so. Climate change is absolutely a factor and we must go all in on green infrastructure to slow down the catastrophe. It's also important for folks to have realistic expectations of what we are in for, regardless.

This is the pattern that always works because conservatives are very very dumb and will latch onto anyone who promotes hate.
This headline is annoying but finally, a bit of nuance to one of these typically doom and gloom stories.

I like this notetaking example. it is a good case of how gender works. Notetaking has never been about producing a transcript. It is a bureaucratic skill in the 20th c. organixarion because it is SENSEMAKING. Those women socialized to take notes? They have been doing men’s metacognition for them

Further interesting scenario is human recollection / notes (taken by habit by a person) conflict with AI summary

Zooming in on Oregon, the enormous scope of ongoing wildfire outbreak is clear. Numerous large smoke plumes from dozens of active fires--which have now burned over 1 million acres in Oregon alone--are casting a broadening pall across the interior Northwest & N. Rockies. #ORwx
Also, I'd like to shout out Portland's bus system, Trimet. We barely drove this weekend, and got to see lots of different sides of Portland. Did you know they have a shuttle that drives around Washington Park, and drops you off at the Max station? It ruled!

She wants to think slow, so they can act fast. She says the mayor signed an executive order that kills DEI. The mayor says it was for state funding.-
Just want to remind everyone that the Mayor cut 200 critical jobs which will result in significant service cuts at a time when Portlanders need govt the most, meanwhile he kept 70 vacancies in the police bureau even though per PPB's own staffing report they will NOT fill most of those positions. 🙃
