She/Her. Seattle. Your neighborhood auntie, and poster lady. Reply-guys need not reply.
When we adopted Lucy, I learned she had lived with an old women for some time. Anytime the Masterpiece Theater theme plays on tv, she immediately settles in my lap. She knows what's good.
Hey sexy intelligent people of Washington State, don't forget to get your ballot in.
A nice thing about that one WNBA lady talking mess on trans kids is that basically all the rest of the WNBA is like “oh actually I like trans people so 🤷♂️“ 🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️
I'm looking forward to the day people stop saying "Raw Dog" for everything.
I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
I would like to thank me for making a point of creating multiple paper trails for when my company receives payments. My accountant emailed last week, trying to reconcile a few checks we received, and today I was able to find each one.
It turns out that laying in bed, watching tv on tubi makes for a relaxing afternoon.

To those who post AI slop with the Peanuts characters, please watch this video of Charles M. Schulz drawing this comic strip by hand which he did for 50 years and then go fuck yourselves afterwards.

if I ever taught film criticism lesson one would be “you being smarter than the movie is not interesting to anyone”
#fragrancesky and #perfumesky friends, I just picked up these on clearance at the Snif website. They are discounting Natural Talent, Way With Woods, Pacifico, Ace Ace Baby, and Strawberry Moon and along with the signup discount they were Mercari resale prices for BNIB.
Awhile back, a friend of mine told me all about the pickled pineapple she had from The Pickle Guys in New York. We decided to get together and make our own.
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
It's blackberry season again, which means I'm wasting precious energy fretting about the inexorable march of time! This and lots more in the new issue of my free newsletter: buttondown.com/paulconstant...
Fear of a Blackberry
In which seeing a berry practically sends me into a panic attack.

There’s been a lot of conversation online about the dress code policy at Tuskegee. But current students have been largely left out of the discourse. So I talked with some of them:
Tuskegee students sound off about dress code policy: ‘You barely see anyone in a bonnet’
“Right now, we are in a housing crisis. We are in a financial crisis,” one student explained.

As someone who stares at posters every day, this is a mother fucking poster! It's beautiful, inspired, original! I would be so excited to distribute this everywhere.
Behold the magnificent poster for the 64th New York Film Festival, designed by Marcel Dzama! Now available for pre-order from one of my favorite places in NYC, Posteritati. posteritati.com/nyff64 @francesmeh.reviews #FilmSky 📽️ @lincolncenter.bsky.social

I put up posters at the neighborhood bookstore, and one of their cats, James, was posed so elegantly yesterday.
I want companies to understand that when I see an AI flier, my brain instantly deletes it. I don't think, "Ooh, I should go to this event!" I rush past it like it's a pile of dog poop. Same for ads with AI models. I assume that if your marketing is cheap garbage, so is your product.
I worked in libraries from high school thru college. All my non-fiction is arranged by subject, but not necessarily in dewey order. My fiction is by author, of course.
Enough of the horrors and doom scrolling. Let's talk about something fun. How do you arrange your books?
Safeco field got sushi when the Mariners signed Ichiro. We now have Katsu curry, spam musabi, and ramen in the mix. Baseball food is great!
I loved learning from @shokdiesel.bsky.social that some people have been freaking out about sushi in baseball stadiums for 40 years?? www.weareravenous.com/white-sox-su...
My tomato harvest. I sometimes feel like my pics are underwhelming compared to people who have large gardens. But I am proud of this first little harvest

That's pretty much it. It's a good, solid movie, and instead of that being "Well yes, it's an expensive Hollywood production full of stars and shot around the world, they aren't going to botch that" it feels like manna because most big Hollywood productions now are Captain Glurpo 14.
I feel like The Odyssey feels like a better movie than it actually is because movie’s are such shit now. Like 40 years ago it would have been the fun, enjoyable summer blockbuster but A Room With A View would still have won Best Adapted Screenplay
