Our new preprint is now on bioRxiv. We identify a p53-FBXO44-RAD18 axis that terminates mutagenic translesion DNA synthesis after replication stress. FBXO44 promotes RAD18 ubiquitination, shuts down RAD18-dependent PCNA monoubiquitination, and limits mutagenesis and cisplatin resistance.
