Happy 18 years today to the Yogscast channel! Here are some memories old and mostly new that no where near encompass all the brilliant people involved and amazing stuff we’ve got to do together over the years. To many years more!

There are plenty of things I'd love to see added to the web platform or improved in browsers. Especially things I want in CSS. While we've already got so much great stuff and a lot more on the way, there are still some assorted little bits I'd love. Here is my wishlist: vale.rocks/posts/web-pl...

Web Platform Wishlist

A list of features I'd personally like to see added to web platform standards or better implemented in browsers. Improvements to HTML, new CSS, other web systems, or wider parts of the web platform that I think could be improved or expanded on to make the web a better place for users to use and for developers to develop on.

🤯 Just encountered one of the wildest bugs of my career: A html page, containing a script tag, containing a "<!--" in a string, alongside a JS comment containing "<script>" It puts the html parser into a weird state which swallows all subsequent html into an unclosed comment

```html
<script>
  const foo = "<!--"
  // <script>
</script>
<div>this disappears</div>
```

being trans has a lower regret rate than being UK prime minister and yet somehow i'm the one people are "worried about"

New demo: Animated CSS Grid Layout. codepen.io/bramus/pen/o... Here’s the thing: No View Transitions. No JS at all. Instead, it uses Anchor Positioning to anchor the cell contents to the cell. Then, CSS transitions are used to animate the contents to their new location as the grid re-layouts.

Just realized that one of my favorite easter eggs I made while at Stripe is still on the /jobs page… The monitor in the photo mimics everything you do on the page itself. 🥚💅 (only visible on Firefox because it uses an experimental feature)

Our statement on the UK gov't's demand that all content on all devices sold or used in the UK be scanned, on the presumption of nudity, using a dystopian combination of age verification & content scanning. This proposal will not safeguard children. It endangers us all. signal.org/blog/pdfs/20...

I GOT THE DOMAIN! I FINALLY GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!1 🥳🎉 Paint.NET is now at paint.net! Well, it will be just as soon as I push all the buttons to migrate content and set up redirects from getpaint.net etc. For now it's just a "hey go here" redirect page.

My kingdom for an iOS Notification System that specifically requires apps split Advertisements / Promotional notifications from _real_ notifications in a way that can be disabled. I want ✅ Order Updates ✅ Direct Messages I don't want ❌ Recommended products ❌ Keep up your streak! ❌ 20% Off

watching the tech industry burn out all the people i know who actually care about delivering things that aren’t perpetually broken, all at the altar of infinite velocity, is making me utterly utterly furious.
