Getting to design characters for a murder mystery visual novel set in the Myst/D'ni universe was such a blast, I hope this also sees the light of day someday:

The other (much smaller) game @shoomlah.bsky.social and I worked on near the end of our time at Cyan is shown here (@ 28:07). "WhoD'nit?", a Myst visual novel / Phoenix Wright style murder mystery (and yes you would obviously be able to flirt with all the suspects!) I still really want to make this.

Isn’t it awful that Cyan is one of the most consequential indie developers in videogame history and they can barely keep the lights on? They literally made a new Myst prototype and all the publishers were like, “love it but we’re only investing in live service.” Like WHAT? HUH?

i think one of the biggest underlinings in just how bad the western industry has been about its own legacy is like. myst isnt just an old game. it was final fantasy vii before final fantasy vii. it was that fucking huge.
