Aggie, Texan, anti genocide and person who just wants things to get better for everyone. 🍉 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈She/Her

Do y'all know who Jen Hamilton is? she's a L&D nurse that has like a ton of followers online and she just wrote a book and got to be on the TV shows. She's a recovering evangelical, Liberty U grad and her husband cheated on her in the dumbest way and so she's going through a very public divorce.

being really stupid and calving Jersey cows in July in Texas for clicks. ffs. You know there's a reason why we don't have a huge dairy industry in texas anymore. Dairy cattle don't do well in the heat like this at all.

I do not recommend a summer calving for your dairy cows. By the end of day two, we realized our little bull calf just wasn't getting enough from mom. Between the extreme heat and the effort it takes to nurse, he simply didn't have the energy & would often abandon the nursing and just get more and more exhausted. We decided to start bottle-feeding for at least 24 hours to help him catch up. This worked really well to give him a big boost of strength, and he began to nurse better on his own! But this isn't the end of the story, and there was still one more thing he needed from us to get through the heat. More in part 2.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

An aircraft passenger oxygen mask: a drop down passenger mask with air bag and yellow plastic mouth and nose cover, oxygen tube has been cut; Demonstration model used by flight attendant crew for passenger instruction. Has text on the side indicating that it's non-functional.

I think how I respond to these pushes is going to be like drugs. "Opioids are a helpful drug to treat great pains and they have helped me when I was very ill. But I know better than to just have them around my house because it becomes too tempting to abuse them and I will lose myself."

My boss recently *insisted* I start using AI at work, and he sounded exactly like a cartoon drug pusher. *All the fast track employees are using it.... *You don't want to be left behind, do you?... *Just try it, what is the worst that can happen, it doesn't work and you do the work yourself...

They are now immediately rolling this feature back. It's just proving that these companies are not capable of quality and safety checking themselves. We need smart people in positions of keeping these things in check. Inside and outside these companies.

New from 404 Media: Google Earth has introduced an AI feature that lets anyone fabricate completely bullshit satellite images. In our own tests, we added a “bomb blast and crater” to an area of Los Angeles. This is a misinformation time bomb, will 100% be abused www.404media.co/google-earth...

it’s never a great sign for your society when all the competent people who believe in doing a good job for the sake of it conclude that they’re actively being punished for these qualities, while malignantly stupid criminals are making bank

Roxanne Orsak '88 is actually a really cool ol' Ag. She graduated from my department and she and the other Ags at HEB came to us a lot to explore what HEB was doing and how young grads can get into it. Probably the only private company I would work for. agrilifetoday.tamu.edu/2026/07/27/h...
