Here it goes, my Daggerfall-inspired diorama. One of those procrastination projects that arises within other procrastination from the stuff you should be doing. It is crude, I was working on it through anxious times, almost gave up a few times. Planning to put WIP shots/process on Patreon!

The Spectral Guide - watercolour and acryla gouache on Arches This piece was created for Commander Sealed, and the original painting is now looking for a home!
It's gonna be really weird to just divorce myself from a project I poured the entirety of the last 3,5 years of my life into. It's gonna be weird not being there when it's released. At least it got me back into sword and sorcery, I can keep reading, watching and drawing that.
One of the few games I'm actively looking forward to. GIMME!

It's my birthday today, I'm 40 now. I got laid off yesterday. On a positive note - I finally got myself a cozy armchair, so that's nice. I think I'll go read for a bit. (I'm reading Elric of Melniboné, lots of lovely imagery I'd like to paint one day.)
sorry for not posting for so long, but i'm making great progress and excited to share more about the game soon! here's a look at how the procedural character controller makes simple obstacles challenging and fun:
I’m very happy to be one of the writers who contributed a story to this wild game… A surrealist tactical narrative game? Who can resist that?

Thought I'd post my small contribution to this effort
I made some alternative covers to use with Caverns of Thracia if you want a home printing of the original without her deadname on it https://poundsofnothing.evilgoblin.wedding/2026/07/caverns-of-thracia-covers-for-home.html
An annoying discovery - despite feeling pretty fluent and frequently thinking in English, I still read Czech faster than English. On the positive side, maybe I've not completely stunted reading-wise, it's just that I've been trying to finish too many English books.
Hah, nice to see Kája Saudek's Conan on here.
Book catalogue project, entry 727: Sešitová řada Poutník č. 2: Conan barbar a jiné povidky (1991, Klub Julese Vernea) by Robert E. Howard, KTK. (trans.), Pavel D. Kolář (trans.), Luděk Chalupa (trans). Magazine. Clean pages, minimal wear.
My favorite depiction of the Trojan Horse, and the earliest known version. I love the windows, like an airplane, and that the windows go up the neck too.
uhmmm....accurate? (please buy Kromlech we're dying)

Just a little reminder to everyone: Algorithms are useless. It's very hard to find cool stuff without being shown it by someone else. So if you find something cool - a band, a game, a video essay or anything else - share it and tell people about it. And thanks to anyone who does! You're cool!
And apologies to Herbert for using your post for a rant. I'm not ok, haven't been ok for a bit. As an art director I should be like "ummm, ackchualeee, if I do my job right, the game will look amazing!". But like, nah, there are things I can't do anything about and it stresses me the fuck out.
Clean, crisp and "peak" graphics almost exclusively happen at the very end (and after) of the current technological paradigm. We are nowhere near that and/or too poor to afford it. "But we've been pushing raytracing and temporal methods for years!" Yea, not there yet. Also you need 4k.
"graphics don't matter art direction does" bugs me re:AAA games because graphically, they look like shit!!!! they turn into a boiling mess if you dare to move or look around! they're too sharp and too blurry at the same time! so hard to parse they have to add markers everywhere! the graphics suck!!!
Ipek Yavuz has passed away - one of the married duo behind the Mount & Blade games. One of the indie OGs, for sure. I'll always remember their photos posted on TW forums, of her husband in pyjamas with his feet on the desk and her smiling. I thought it was so cool two people could just make a game.
Looks like we've shown off the model for this guy elsewhere. Let's see if videos work for me today. I'm quite happy with how this one ended up, considering we've not done many monsters so far. (model by our character artist - Veronika Levitner)
And since it was shared in the first Kromlech EA dev diary, I guess I can show this concept I did recently for a future NPC. Our concept artist Hanka did a lot of early work on this guy and I pretty much just polished it for production.
Your body, left arm, and right arm each have separate stats and levels in Withering Realms so there's a lot of build variety. I’ve been testing new builds every day and running through the game to fix balance issues, bugs, and polish as I go. Here's a few...
