And for God’s sake: follow Mamdani’s lead and have someone with charisma who seems normal (Ossoff? AOC?) go on Instagram and TikTok and explain how every passed policy will improve people’s lives. Passing good legislation isn’t enough. You have to EXPLAIN VERY CLEARLY WHAT IT DOES

1. nuke the electoral college so every American’s vote counts equally 2. Ban Congress people, White House admin from trading stocks 3. Non-partisan redistricting. End all gerrymandering 5. Automatic voter registration for all U.S. citizens, who will then be sent mail ballots.

NEW: Indivisible is calling for a contested Senate leadership election, not a coronation. It is time to take meaningful steps to demonstrate that Democrats are discarding the old, failed playbook. Any Leader for the new fighting Democratic party must commit to the following:

My message to Democrats is simple: When we have the power, we have to use it. Please don't tell me about a majority—SHOW me what a majority can do. A people-powered majority with a mandate for justice, a mandate for compassion, and a mandate for progress.

Another thing Dems should work toward, most likely just prepping it for the next administration to actually pass, is legal guardrails on the PotUS. Far too much of presidential power limitation was set by tradition, not law. This administration proved that a complicit congress will enable crime.

I left the South for many reasons, but I need so many of you to understand something. There have been good people working and organizing for progress under brutal oppressive conditions since before some of your states were states. It is insulting to casually write them off. Believe in good.

How extreme was yesterday's wave election? In terms of total votes, the overall count was the second-largest margin ever against the President's party (favoring Democrats by 13.8%). The only larger margin was in 1974, the year of the Watergate scandal and Nixon's resignation.

Yesterday, voters made it very clear that they want a new generation of Democratic fighters. We need a leader in the Senate who is capable of leading that fight. It’s time for Senate Democrats to choose new leadership.

(around an image of Senator Schumer) IT’S TIME FOR NEW LEADERSHIP IN THE SENATE.

NO SCHUMER CORONATION

taking some time during my lunch break to call my reps. CALL 1: Congressperson Me (paraphrased): I'm so excited about yday's results obv, but I am calling to pushback on a concerning interview i saw w/ Congressman Jeffries. Costs & affordability are important, but I want to see ACCOUNTABILITY.

Preeti Chhibber@runwithskizzers.bsky.social · 3d ago

everyone get ready to call your reps and tell them we do NOT want reaching across the aisle, we want justice and accountability!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I were a DOGE guy, ICE agent, or any other administration goon who's been involved in some shady work over the past two years I'd be seriously thinking about stepping forward to inform on my colleagues before they inevitably do the same to me

The odds are us. The people who voted. Against all odds? That's your VOTERS! Fuck, even his victory rhetoric is weak and out of touch. @democrats.senate.gov he's got to go. You need new leadership to meet this moment. How blind can you be!?! Wield your power, not this loser shit you like to do.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) now talking about Dems taking back the Senate tonight. "Against all odds, Democrats have won the Senate," he says. "We have five words for the American people: relief is on the way."

You can literally run a trans woman in a red district in a deep South red state and win 22% more voters than the cis Democrat in the previous election. Every Democrat who has been lying about trans rights being bad electorally needs to be removed from politics forever!

A trans woman just won a Alabama house seat that a right wing news paper described as a "long shot" while repeatedly misgendering her in the article, lmao. The Republican candidate spent the whole campaign attacking her for being trans and lost his very Republican leaning seat, eat fucking shit!
