instead of having a personalised artwork created for you by AI you could always just play with yourself. it’s basically the same thing & a similarly small number of people want to see you do it

I’m not sure whether this is just a psychological difference or AI bros fundamentally don’t understand the nature of an artistic experience, but: I don’t want a personalised film/book/podcast. I want to see/read/hear the same one as everyone else, so I can read reviews or discuss it with my friends

I hope the council staffers whose jobs are on the line and the community organisations who had their funding cut for 2026 find some solace in the fact that at least we get to keep the Begonia House and Khandallah Pool, truly the jewels in Wellington’s crown

Nobody wants predictive data models to stop working for the people in medicine. Or translating ancient Pompeii texts. Or the other ways we were already using it. We want it to stop replacing workers, killing the environment, and stealing from artists. Hope that clarifies.

AI cures cancer.

Bluesky: actualky the AI didn't really cure cancer. Just predicted the next most likely word in a loop until a solution to cancer was extruded

today someone got in touch with my workplace to say they did not have email so needed to come and carry out their transaction in person. the channel they chose to deliver this message? a Facebook comment

Not only will Greece go to your country and kill all your people, but what’s worse, I think, is that they’ll come back 3000 years later and make a movie about how killing your people made one of their soldiers feel sad.
