When my wife did chemo and radiation, she would go outside once or twice a day and shed the hair as it all fell out. Today, seven months later, we just found a nest a bird (likely a wren) made out of her hair.

I picked up some taquitos from my neighborhood heavy metal taquito dude. He stops everything to watch Jeopardy in the afternoon and he regaled me with the story of the dude who has been on a 10 day winning streak.
1) The NYC election was a three-way race, and 2) Mamdani was undermined by Democratic party leaders. Those feel like pertinent context.
Phillips OBrien@phillipspobrien.bsky.social · 9mo agoBtw, the press obsessing about Mamdani seems weird. He seriously underperformed the Democratic vote in NYC compared to recent elections, barely scraping 50%. Moderate Democrats in VA and NJ dramatically overperformed. That seems the real story
ICE/CBP is active in Lincoln Park right now, has been spotted near Damen/Clybourn at Costco + Jewel (this is in addition to a morning abduction reported at Costco earlier). People believe grocery delivery drivers are being targeted and are asking folks to alert other vulnerable workers as well.
I went to Broadview ICE facility again today. They blocked off 25th, a lot of sheriffs police, local cops& Illinois state police. Around noon, riot police w/ weapons, helmets, zip ties came out. All in black & I cannot figure out what this patch says. The word on the bottom is police. Anybody know?

Donald Trump’s plan is one that’s been repeated over and over again by dictators across history — inciting the local population before sending disrupters. That’s how you convert a democracy into something else. Illinois won’t fall for this ploy.

I am so tremendously thankful that JB Pritzker is my Governor. When he ran I was extremely skeptical but he has proven to be an amazing leader time and time again. Friends outside of Illinois: I know you are skeptical of him because he is a billionaire but watch his actions. They speak volumes.
